My Cat won’t use it!
This Scratcher bed is attractive and well made. I love the looks of it and thought my cat, Pye would love it. WRONG!! Immediately he completely avoided it and any area where I placed it for him. After 2 weeks he still had not gone near it and I gave it to a friend whose cat uses it all the time. So, the problem was with my spoiled cat, not the bed.

Great cat scratchers/beds and no cardboard mess!
My cats have always loved those cardboard scratchers. They love to stretch and scratch as well as sleep in them. But the mess all of that shredded cardboard all over the floor is a pain to keep swept up. Not to mention I have one cat who feels he needs to get some additional fiber every day and he eats the shredded cardboard. These scratchers (I bought two very similar ones, this one and a second), are not only far less mess but are made in a nice oval shaped, slightly beveled for comfy sleeping, and are mostly made of sisal which cats LOVE to scratch. They are also very lightweight. One of my cats is a big boy so I made sure to find these bed/scratchers in a large size. He is twenty pounds and this size is perfect for him. Because the scratchers are concave sort of like a football stadium or an outdoor amphitheater they also fit very nicely for our eleven pound kitty. They did not have a weird smell when I unpacked them but I rubbed some catnip in the bottom anyway. It always gets the cats settled in to new beds or toys.We and our cats highly recommend these scratchers,

Makes a great napping bed for cats.
Both my cats use this as a sleeping bed and often play with the ball.

Not worth the money
Very cheaply made..thin sisal sheet glued onto Styrofoam. My cats are not interested in it much as well.

Cat is obsessed!
I bought two flat cat scratchers to replace those cardboard ones, in the hopes that I will one day be able to stop cleaning up cardboard shreds. My cat refused to touch the first one so I was very nervous… this one, though, has already inspired a nap, and I only set it down 20 minutes ago! He hasn’t tried scratching it yet but he hates cat beds so I’m very very pleased to see him asleep on it. So cute!

Bed Area Too Hard For My Cat
I was hoping my cat would like this bed but she only stepped in it once and refuses to return to it. I gave it some time, hoping maybe she was just being fussy, but no luck at all with this bed. The only thing I can think of is maybe it’s because she’s an older cat and starting to have some arthritis, so maybe the hardness of the bed area is too uncomfortable for her. I waited awhile to see if she would come around and start laying in this bed but she never did after that one time, so I’m returning it. It’s a nice looking bed but I think the hardness of the bed area is what turned my cat off. So that’s why I only gave it one star. It just didn’t work out for my cat.

Pricey for what it is
I have a 20lb ragdoll and was looking for something I could put outside on the catio. The cardboard scratches I feel would grow mold in the morning dampness and this seemed to be something that would be big enough and withstand the dampness. Also other similar ones with the spiral rope he would rip out and not last long. When I got this I was surprised how light and made of cheap materials. I think it is a hard styrofoam base? Which is good for my purpose. The real test was for my cat. Once I put the included cat nip in it, he immediately scratched and curled up in it. He fills the whole bed but he likes it. The ball attachment he has no interest in but the important thing is if he likes it and uses it and he does. I deducted a couple of stars because for what it is, I feel it is over priced. Let’s see how long it lasts.
