    Awesome but be careful
Awesome ball that’s lasted years – I only want to want that you only bring this out for your dog occasionally. My German Shepard mix loves this thing but he’s chipped 3 teeth playing rough. I have to get his teeth capped now so that he can continue to play. He literally SHAKES when he sees this out of pure excitement

    My dog loves it.
My wife and I recently adopted a puppy from a rescue and we named her Penny. Penny is sweet as can be, but she never stops, never naps she is just go go go. We had a Wisdom panel DNA test on her and found out that she is 78% Australian Cattle Dog, 16% Border Collie, and the last 6% is Miniature American Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, Australian Kelpie and German Shepherd. She has the Blue Heeler chasing, heel nipping and biting instincts to a very high degree. She is also 6 months old and she wants to play constantly. We purchased the 10 inch blue Jolly ball and she loves it. It is a little heavy but not too heavy for her (she weighs 26 lbs right now.) Like the manufacturer warns with a sticker on the ball, there is a socket in one spot on the ball and Penny was crazy about chewing that spot. We did as another customer did and filled in the socket with a 2 part plastic epoxy and now she can see the hole and she attempts to bite it, but she can’t. When Penny is showing signs she needs some exercise or mental stimulation, we go play with her and the Jolly ball until she tires herself out some. A tired Penny is a good Penny.

    Good dog ball
My dog loves this ball, it’s very durable, hard plastic, fun for rolling around and playing with

  4. K Duncan

    Unable to fill
Great toy for chewers. He can’t chew it! The plug when removed is to small to get anything into it unless there is a trick that I haven’t found

  5. Angel

    it’s clunky
    dog loves it

Not for small 12 pound dogs
The ball is too hard. I got it for a small to medium dog. It is too heavy for her and she didn’t want to play with it at all.

The only real herding ball solution for longevity
This is such a valuable toy / tool if you have a working dog without a working environment. But – there are two things dependent on you, their human, to make it such.First, and more straight-forward, you have to seal the threaded access cap so they’re not wrecking their teeth trying to pick it up. Grab a J-b Weld Kwikset Epoxy syringe (5-9 dollars from a box store) to do this. It’s so simple and straight-forward that nobody should be here complaining about the cap.If you desire to add anything to the inside of the ball, do that before you (permanently) seal the hole. This thing is a brick, so definitely don’t need to add weight:1.) Find a way to secure the ball in a well-ventilated space **AWAY FROM DOGGO** so that it’s not rolling. I used a pipe clamp, you can do this with a wall and something heavy. It should be leveled but you can eyeball it just fine.2.) Sand, lightly, the red cap and the below-flush sides of the access hole with (any low-ish grit) sandpaper.3.) Open your kwikset epoxy, attach the mixing tube, and push the clear mixture into the gap until it’s flush, or near-flush with the surface of the ball.4.) After the epoxy has settled (30 seconds) make sure you have the ball level – you’ll be able to see the resin pooling if the hole is off-center. Once corrected, squeeze out more epoxy until it’s slightly above the smooth surface of the ball.5.) The resin will dry in 5-10 minutes, and per the manufacturers instructions cure in a few hours. Its best to allow 24-hours before use, though. If your best friend is a herding dog, aka one that has an instinctual desire to control what moves, this ball will keep them B-U-S-Y. Anything smaller isn’t as captivating because it can easily be controlled. This is the root of herding – working dogs love fetch so much because a bouncing ball / frisbee is unpredictable and (for them) *must* be controlled.Second – you need to facilitate how you introduce this to your dumb friend. For me, Ace is immediately *infuriated* by his inability to pick it up or move it a great distance effectively. So, he’ll come to me and sit because he ‘needs help’. The trick is to not engage with the ball like you would anything else. Position it for them if you need to, but pick it up without eye contact / acknowledgement, put it where you want it, and walk away without engaging them. Hang outside and encourage them, but don’t give them a hand with the ball at all.

Balle plastique rigide . Impossible pour le chien de saisir , fait un bruit de dingue.

  10. Tony Dunphy

My dog went on a rampage chasing that around the house. We did not kept since it’s no good in the grass.

He has a little hesitant about the ball at first but now LOVES it.Great for high energy dogs to mix up their enrichment and play time.We bought it in August last year and it’s still going strong. Really good for their nails as well.
