Puppy is Sleeping LONGER! Yes to Nap time!
Yes! My initial problem with my puppy is how he would always get up everything 10min and move about, then fall back asleep. And it’ll always be on my wood flooring, we live Hawaii so it can kind of get hot here, especially doing the summer. However, with this just for one day, his naps were much longer. He wouldn’t even want to get up. My baby was such a light sleeper, until I have this…actually he still might be, but instead of getting up to see whatever it is that made the sound, he’ll look and doze right off. XD I guess it might be confortable. At first I made the bed, more firmer, cause I thought if he sleeps in the floor, perhaps he likes a more tougher surface. He went on it for a while…then Got off and went back to the floor. At first I just thought that maybe the bed overall sucked, but they said the more water the more comfortable. So I figured my pup, who has practically been on hard surfaces since we got him, even if I laid blankets and bought a bed, might actually like a squishy surface that keeps cool unlike a soft surface that’s warm or a floor that’s cool but hard. I was right! It definetly was the heat that kept him off of soft surfaces. Cause, now with his waterbed, my baby is sleeping like a rock.I’m so sorry that I had made my baby sleep on such uncountable surfaces, cause it was too hot here -_-‘ mommy loves you, that’s why you get this God sent gift :)I just hope it lasts, unlike some of the reviews here, and because we have hard wood flooring, the darn thing better not leak lolI filled it up with Luke warm water, I thinks it’s pretty cool, but next time he gets up, maybe I’ll make it a tad bit more cooler by adding more chilled water to his bed.Regarding my photos:An additional problem was the crate I got him would get kind of warm, especially with the covers over it, but he likes his privacy though. He didn’t really sleep in there, until I added the bed 🙂 now he’s all belly up, comfy XD yay!

Chillow Users…you have a good alternative with this product!!!
I used to buy the Chillow products, for my own personal use. They were originally a great product. Chillow (Soothsoft) then for some reason sold the rights to a Chinese company, who proceeded to start selling a cheap highly inferior knockoff, with the Chillow brand name. I made the mistake of buying one of these Chinese Chillows, and it turned into a wadded mess within a week, with no way to bring it back to its original shape. Thin cheap plastic, and the design was just inferior in every way. Then you couldnt find the original Chillow anymore. The company stopped making them. I had become reliant on the original Chillow to help me get to sleep at night. I started looking at alternatives, and found some gel pillow pads, which worked OK, but werent as cool, and the coolness dissipated pretty quickly. I then was somehow directed to a website which sold the K&H Cool Bed for pets. I looked at the dimensions of the Small bed, and although a bit larger than the Chillow, I thought it was worth giving it a try. I received it, and noticed right away that the material seemed noticeably thicker and more durable feeling than even the Original Chillow. It covers your entire standard pillow. Stays cool at least as long as the Chillow. I havent had any issues with leaking at either filling cap or seams. Just generally wearing out over time. So as I said, if you were a Chillow user, and want a good alternative, this is a good choice. By the way, I do have a dog, but he is an Italian Greyhound, who looks like a starving refugee, but he is healthy, and is supposed to look like that. He just has very little need for cooling products.

Best cooling bed for pets
This is my 5th time buying this product? Not because it’s defective or anything was wrong, but bc I keep moving and its more cost effective for me to buy a new one rather than moving it cross country several times. I’ve used this on both my dogs (60 lbs each- Collie and pitbull), my rabbit, and my cat occ enjoys sleeping on this as well. My collie tends to paw on all his beds and it has never ripped. I use this in both my dogs crates and they go in there on their own to sleep on this. My collie LOVES this in the summer and I save a lot on energy by not needing to turn on the AC all the time bc he just goes on this to sleep if he feels hot. My pitbull has a ton of orthopedic issues and this def helps him. When I still had my rabbit, I bought a small one for him and he was on it all the times, sometimes he went to sleep with the dogs on their cooling bed. Mine never chewed on the bed so it was safe for him. He would paw and dig on the bed all the time and again, never got damaged or leaked water. The longest I’ve had these cooling beds was prob 3-4 yrs before I move again and replaced it, so I can’t comment on whether these beds lasting longer, but I feel that it was a great investment for any bed lasting more than a year since that’s the lifespan of most of my dogs beds due to all the pawing they do. I add a tiny bit of bleach when I fill it up to prevent mold from forming, it is a water bed after all…. I also love that it is so easy to wipe these down to clean them if you need to. My dogs has had diarrhea and vomited all over these beds and yep I never had to get rid of them since they clean really well for me and didn’t even stain. My cat had behavioral issues when I first got him and he peed all over these beds, and for those who have cats you know how horrible cat urine can be, yet I was able to clean it and get rid of the smell. You can fill it up as much or as little as you want. I add a bit more water so its more cushiony for my pups. Downside is that it is VERY heavy when you fill it up with water (especially the large one), so I recommend you to fill it up where you intend on keeping the beds- also prob why I just threw these beds out when it came time to moving. The small bed you can def fill it up and not have too much trouble moving it around. In addition to having one for my rabbit, I had the small ones lined in the back seat of my car during the summer months for my pups during road trips. Overall I love these beds, I will continue to buy them as long as I have pets. Yes they’re heavy and annoying, but they do what they’re intended to do and they last forever. I’ve tried a ton of cooling beds when I was searching them for my collie when he was still a puppy and as soon as I found this product years ago, I will stay loyal to it, bc honestly you def won’t find another cooling bed that works as well as this. I am not being compensated for this review, just wanted to share my experience after using it and buying it for so many years.

My dog loves this bed, uses it all year. This is the 3rd one I had to get in 2 years tho as the seams split. Will probably continue to replace it as needed just because she loves it so much.

I bought my 4th small size Cool Bed this week. The first one was purchased in 2007 for my Border Collie who was prone to heat strokes and who had to travel long distances in my AC less Echo to go to Agility Trials and Flyball tournaments. It worked so well that my husband bought 2 for his dogs. Unfortunately, all 3 were left on the roof of the truck one night and ended up run over by tractor trailers for a whole night. We found them on the side of the road the morning after. Only one survived, despite being slightly damaged. It’s now 12 years old and starting to delaminate. It’s the one that you see in this picture, in a flowered pillow case, under a teddy bear 🙂 This is my 4 y.o. boy’s bed. It’s narrower than a twin size. Our youngest boy has a very light sleep and the heat really bothers him. We were contemplating just going for it and installing the AC in our house… When I thought about our valiant CoolBed… So we tried it: when Nico is hot, he lays on the cool bed. When he is cool enough, he lays on the other half of his bed. Works like a charm, he sleeps through the night. Yay! But as I was saying, the CoolBed is now starting to die… And even though there is a pad under the bedsheet in case of “accidents”, we wanted a new one.Now be aware, these are not for puppies or dog with anxiety issues who could chew or scratch the bed. It won’t survive. But with dogs who understand a bed’s purpose, it’s awesome. Fill it with water and the remove the excess air with the valve until water want to come out and that’s it. I regularly change the pillow case, and clean the outside of the cool bed with soapy water now and then. Another tip… You don’t need a huge cool bed for your dog. 17″x24″ was perfect for Border Collies… And it fits in a pillow case 🙂

It works wonderfully and it keeps working. We tried some other products which have to go in the freezer and warm up within half an hour and have a dangerous surface. This one is comfy and always cool. They always sprung a leak eventually but its a tiny leak. so we just replace it. It always leaks at the seam. Can last three years before that happens. I will continue getting it.
