The only brand I’ll buy, our stray and feral cats love them
I have been buying these for years for our outdoor stray and feral kitties in their kittyhouses – they are always durable and they last for years if taken care of properly. We do use an outdoor extension cord because the attached cord is never long enough to reach an outdoor outlet. Our kitty houses are well-insulated, and the lectro kennel pad is generally all that is needed to keep the cats warm (with a heavy fleece blanket lined around the side edges of the floor), they appreciate them and always seem warm and comfortable, even in our sub-zero temps in winter and snow. The separate covers are easy to wash (on gentle cycle in washing machine and air dried in dryer), and they never collect snow and ice because the lectro kennel pad is always warm enough, and we do have covered porches on the houses for the cats to step on/enter before they step inside to use the pads. We have never had an air-leak with the pads, we let just enough air in during set up so that the pad isn’t wobbly or dome-shaped and they feel soft as a cloud and are always warm.

Fit Over the Indoor Heat Pad My Senior Kitty Lives On
This is heating pad now about 3 or 4 yrs old and so the cover on the original was completely covered with cat hair that would no longer wash or brush or vacuum off. My senior kitty Cordelia has incontinence and has piddled enough that between the hair of the OEM cover and that smell, it was time to replace. The replacement cover is a perfect fit but does not cover the entire back like the original. Which, when inserting, I did notice discoloration on the back of the heat pad as if it had overheated and those areas became too hot at some point. *Our heated pad is on a 4″ upholstered step stool so it may just trap heat more than other surfaces would. Cordellia always lays on this heat pad and took no time off after the new pad was installed, which is the best endorsement for the new cover. When I travel, I leave this on b/c she gets very cold but seeing the back of the heat pad, now I’m not so sure I should. I would not even have noticed had I not had the option of a replacement pad.

Perfect fit for thick soft K&H heating pad!
Love this! Just what I was looking for. My elderly kitty was poo sick all over her old one & instead of dealing with washing one that was 5+ years old, I bought a new cover. Perfect fit with no bad off-gassing smell. She went right in and fell asleep on the soft fresh pad. Saved me from buying a new heating pad or even a new heated house. It’s still her favorite place to sleep but now it’s clean!

Really nice cover
I have 2 K & H heated houses that I purchased for two stray cats that adopted me several years ago. They are both passed on now but the houses are still in great shape…except the covers to the pads. After years of use, they got yucky. But everything else was still going strong. The house was still nice and the heating pad underneath still warmed up. So the fact that I could just order a new cover for the heating pad was great! It kept me from having to purchase a whole heating pad or cat house all over again! Which is great because I have two cats in the neighborhood that like to stop by and it’s getting cold outside and want to provide them with warmth if they need it.

not what i expected.
not much heat, even when cat lays on it. put hand under cat after she sleeps for an hour, her undercarriage is a bit warmer than when she sleeps in her bed indoors. pad is slightly warm when not in use. this was in the warm December in Ohio. we have an arctic blast coming…I will update as to performance in cold weather.I have pad sitting on a rectangle of insulboard. (the blue stuff) inside of a clear storage container with a small cat door cut into it. it is inside a cage ( wire with wood floor and roof) that has been covered with 20 gauge clear vinyl for the winter. the cage is 4×8 x4′ high and is accessible thru a cat flap in the bathroom window. it has a wood/shingle roof with overhangs, so it is quite dry.in the warm weather, it is an open aire wire enclosure. she watches the birds and sleeps on a wooden shelf on soft summer nights.Hally is a Princess.when the weather permits, we open a door that allows access into a large Catio.We enclosed the patio with wire 4 cats ago when one was mauled by a raccoon in the yard. The cats have permitted us to put chairs and a BBQ grill out there. They have a wheat patch and small shade tree. I grow flowers out there. there is a wooden jungle gym for the cats.She weighs 7.5 lbs. – is this enough weight to tell the pad to heat up? it is the small (14×18″ ) pad.I would appreciate comments on how I am using this product and if anyone has any suggestions to make it heat better.Thanks and meow!.

Cover is very poorly made
This cover is flimsy and poorly made. My pooch really likes the heated pad and needed a second cover to swap during washes but this thing is basically useless. Single stitching holds the paper thin edge to the unraveling fleece. Very disappointed in the quality here. Stitching ripped after first wash, I know it says not to use other covers on the heating pad but the poor quality of the manufacturers covers leaves me with no other option. Guess I’ll try to make something from an old king size pillow case to replace this
