$23.89

K&H Self-Warming Crate Pads are available in multiple sizes and colors. The self-warming pad will capture the pet’s body heat and radiate back the warmth to the source. The 4 corners are slit to allow the pad to fit many different edges. The adjustable size makes this pad fit into many different crates. The topside of the crate pad is made from soft, inviting microfleece while the bottom has a “stay pet” non-slip fabric to keep the pad from bunching up in the crate. Simply throw the whole pad in the wash for easy cleaning and care. These pads also work great as a self warming cat pad or self warming dog pad when no electricity is available for a cat heating pad or heated dog bed. Being that they are so versatile, you can place them just about anywhere for use as a self warming crate pad, self warming cat bed, or self warming dog bed. Place in a dog crate, on a window sill, on cat furniture or anywhere in your home!

    Nice for the Price.
Nice for the price. I ordered the size XS in brown. Size is 14″ x 22″. This is a self warming pad- no electricity or plug in needed. The pad radiates heat back to your pet using his/her own body heat. The Self radiating style comes in 3 different colors (at time of this review): Gray, Mocha Brown, & Tan.It has a nice, non-slip bottom, & it’s a comfy fleece. It’s not very thick & makes a slight crinkly noise when walked on (nothing too loud). The back has a strap that allows you to hang it up, which will be useful if using it to hang dry after washing (or you can clip the strap off if it’s not needed). 100% polyester Fiber. It’s not waterproof. Machine wash cold, tumble dry. Made in China. My cat is about 16 pounds, & this pad is just about as long as he is (his feet hang off a bit). I could have probably ordered a size up but for what I am using it for it works just fine. It fits nicely in his crate, & is a nice pad to put onto his perch that he often sleeps on. If you have a larger cat that you’d like to have extra mat space for, you may want to size up.XS size recommended for: Tiny dogs, or catsTip: If color doesn’t matter, check the prices for the different colors (& sizes). When I purchased it, the brown was a little cheaper than the tan or gray. Be sure to locate the “self warming” colors/ styles, because this manufacturer also offers memory foam pads & odor controlling pads, & all of the reviews are lumped together.Would I recommend? Definitely. Nice pad & great deal for the price. My cat loves it! Hope you found this review helpful. Happy Shopping! 🙂

Seems like it will be perfect for my needs.
I bought this for my cats. I did, in fact, buy the largest one available because it was less expensive than the smallest one (I found that odd, but I’m not complaining). My plan is to sew supports into the padding and cut it to make suction-cup-attached window perches, for which the large pad has enough to make 4-6, depending on size.As soon as I got this, I laid it out on the floor. I wanted to test it out, what with all the reviews of cats LOVING it. I laid on it. Yes, yes I did. I’m not sure if it legitimately got warmer than it would were it not designed to retain body heat, as I didn’t lay on it terribly long, but it certainly got to my body temp quickly, especially considering the entire bottom of the pad was in contact with cold tile. My cats laid on it about as quickly as I did. I may or may not have put it in a sunbeam to encourage this. The top layer of fabric is really soft, the bottom has non-skid nubblies (similar to slipper socks ^_^), and the corners are cut to fit around vertical crate supports (I think that’s why, at any rate..). Product seems really well made, and isn’t nearly as loud as some reviewers say, though that could be related to size. When I had my head on it, it sounded rather like a plastic grocery bag under two pillows (I frequently stash plastic wrapping under pillows when my cats start licking them and I’m too lazy to get off the couch), if even that loud. 4 cats didn’t seem to mind the sound – if anything, it sounds rather like crinkle cat toys/furniture.I think this pad will be amazing for sun-heated window perches; one bottom layer of strong fabric, with a layer of something super-soft on top to make a pocket, and this pad between the layers (the pad, itself, has a very soft microfiber-type cover, but since I’m cutting it, it needs to be enclosed). If they like these, I’ll probably pick up another couple of the pads (hopefully at the same price!! ^_^) to make hammocks and various sitting spots throughout the house. With 4 cats, having multiple similar spots available is super important :pVery happy with this purchase.

BUYING MORE. Sick kitty likes it as much as laps!
Here to buy more! Our senior kitty that *DEMANDS* Lap *All*The*Time* because he is sick and maybe feels cold, has really taken to this crate liner as a bed. He isn’t demanding lap all the time since the day this arrived. It was originally bought for a friend’s kitten but this kitty decided it was his new bed. Of course, he has many beds all over the house and even just a few feet from where this one was set down, but he only likes this one now. And lap.BUT, he isn’t forcing us to give him our laps 24-7. To the touch, this doesn’t seem to “warm” as it says it does. But it’s doing something for him compared to other beds in the house, as we are now able to get some sleep instead of him crawling all over us all night, every night. It’s on our bed though, as it’s not cushy enough for his old bones. The ones being ordered tonight will be placed in his cushy beds. Oh, and the kitten still needs one for the carrier! We looked at some of K&H’s plug-in beds for him, as we had some in the past. Unfortunately, there are some scary reviews now, so maybe their quality control has gone down. We also looked at those weird, microwave heat things, but with their exploding and/or leaking – nope.We didn’t even notice the slight crinkle noise of this bed at first, but kept squishing it to see if it really had the metallic lining in there and it probably does because it makes a little noise. This kitty likes to get in paper bags, so it didn’t bother him.Our other monster cat liked this as well, and our sick kitty almost fought him for it! Luckily we were there, but yikes. He likes it *that much*!Your kitties or dogs may not like it, but it’s worth a try for the small size at a little over $6. If they don’t like it, you can always donate it to a foster home or rescue. We’re pretty sure some kitties will like it. We feel lucky to have chanced upon finding something this kitty likes at least as much as lap!EDITED TO ANSWER A QUESTION SOMEONE HAD ABOUT OUTDOOR USE IN WINTER:We live in AZ, and at night here it gets pretty cold during Jan-Feb. It can freeze over for a few weeks. (20 to 30 degrees F) If this is all you can use in a similar situation it’s better than nothing. But I think K&H makes a “furry” version of this, and that would be better. If you are somewhere that freezes regularly, I’d recommend something else *with* this, like a hot water bottle if there’s no electrical – this one is all rubber, not plastic: HomeTop Premium Classic Rubber Hot Water Bottle, Great for Pain Relief, Hot and Cold Therapy (2 Liters, Cream White)If you have an electrical outlet outside, this heating pad is *great*: K&H Pet Products Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pet Bed Small Tan 14″ x 18″ 20W They have different sizes, from small to large.I’d written above about how they had some scary reviews, but did end up ordering one anyway – and it is fine. I’m not sure if it will last as long as our other, older ones have – They still work after 7 years. But figured it was worth a try and it seems to be made with the same quality as the old ones… So far. I’ll update if there’s any change! All of our kitties have really loved them, so we’ve bought a few over the years and all are still working. Now that the kitties that were once feral ‘outdoors only’ types have come inside, we use these for their comfort – one has arthritis. Though, even before getting old and stiff, he *really* liked sleeping on these. He would knock our other old kitties off so he could sleep in his preferred area on this heated bed instead of a regular cat bed! One thing though – I’m really sensitive to things like plastic smells. These needed to be aired out for a week or so – For me, at least. You may be different. It helped to gently wipe it down with a damp sponge with some Dr. Bronner’s soap and then rinse/wipe with a clean damp sponge and let dry. You can find the one we use that has the least amount of questionable ingredients (as checked on Environmental Working Group’s site – ewg.org) here, though, you may find it cheaper locally, or on their site: Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap – Baby Unscented, 32oz.Hope this helps!***** UPDATE (About a year later. 4-21-18) *****Like these so much! They still look new, and they wash so easily (washer/dryer). They also vacuum nicely. We’re here getting even more of these since one of our cats has now been diagnosed with Asthma/Bronchitis. Now we need to wash the cat beds *really often* and get rid of the ones with foofy fabrics that traps dander and dust. Of course that was the majority of the kitty beds here 🙁 Luckily, we know they really like these smoother beds. We’ll also get a few *medical grade* allergy pillow covers to zip over cushioned cat beds and regular allergy pillows to use on their own, or to put under this bed, to make it nice‘n’squishy for their old, arthritic bones. MISSION: ALLERGY Dust Mite- and Allergen-Proof Pillow Encasing; “Premium Microfiber”https://www.amazon.com/Allergen-Proof-Encasing-Premium-Microfiber-Standard/dp/B0096E7ZGI::: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT :::HEY! If your cat is hunkering down / getting low to the floor or chair or whatever, stretching it’s neck out like a fur ball will be forthcoming but then makes a hacking noise/cough – GET THEM CHECKED! It could be an extremely serious problem that’s heart related (enlarged heart: Cardiomegaly, or disease of the heart muscle: Cardiomyopathy), or, more likely – Asthma/Bronchitis. There are videos on YouTube you can check out. Search for feline or cat and coughing.IF YOUR CAT EVER PANTS, GET THEM TO THE E.R. RIGHT AWAY! They need to get oxygen right away. Cats should *never* pant! It’s a sign there is something horribly wrong. Panting could also be from asthma/bronchitis or heart problems. Both are deadly.Apparently, every time kitties cough like this it causes damage that does NOT repair itself, and worsens over time. Most people think it’s just a fur ball, but it’s not. And as far as fur balls go – Now there are studies showing what most people and vets think is a fur ball situation is actually small bowel disease that could end in cancer.A vet doing studies on this named Gary D. Norsworthy, DVM, DABVP, has some (expensive) books available on Amazon. His Amazon page can be found here: Gary D. NorsworthyA book on cats written with another author can be found here: Nursing the Feline PatientBut if you are interested in learning the most current info why your KITTY is PUKING “fur balls” constantly, which IS NOT NORMAL, do an internet search for, “Gary D. Norsworthy bowel disease” but leave out the “”.Here’s hoping this helps some people and kitties out there. Our kitties have a lot of health problems, and we’re hoping other people can avoid some of these things if problems are caught early.Good luck! =<`;`>=

It’s a little thin, I put it on top of her other bed, she goes to it like a magnet, it you put your hand under her you can feel the warmth, good for her arthritic bones.

NO VEO QUE MI GATITA TENGA MAS PREFERENCIA POR ESTA COBIJA COMPARADA CON OTROS TRAPITOS QUE YA TENIA EN SU CAMA.

  6. GamerGirl

I can’t say enough about how wonderful these self-warming crate pads are! We have 5 of them now because they are so great we keep buying more. Our cats LOVE them. They are soft and cozy and they must work (you can’t really tell without laying on them). We live in a very cold house and they have been a godsend. They machine wash like a dream. I never expected them to still look and feel so great after many, many washes but they look and feel practically new still. Do your heat-seeking kitties a favour and get a couple!

  7. Sharon Hanson

It is the only bed mat that my pup hasn’t destroyed and pulled apart or ripped up within days of giving it to her. Sometimes she takes it out of her crate and drags it to where she wants to sleep, so I’d say its a favorite of hers.
