Definitely a thinning sheer, and not a chunker.
I did a lot of research before purchasing these sheers. I have a labradoodle with a thick wavy fleece coat. I am in no way a professional groomer…but, I like to keep my dog well groomed. Ultimately, I wanted sheers that would thin and NOT chunk his coat.These sheers have made the grooming process so much easier for me, and I have been quite happy with the final result.The number of teeth and the spacing make for a great thinning tool. I’ve used them several times and they are very sharp! Definitely be mindful of your fingers and your pooches skin. The blunt end is a good safety measure.I also like that the handle has a gel padding. This really makes the grooming process a lot more comfortable.Overall, I am very happy with these sheers!

easy to use
The shears works very good, but I think I could use more time using it to get the thinning down pat. I have a long-haired Shiloh Shepherd so I need to do small areas at a time. I used it slowly with him at first and now he does quite well with it.

So… these are just ok really and I did expect more. The price is really a mid level scissor and I guess you could consider these mid level. I would choose instead to just invest in a more expensive pair that will do a better job overall and last forever. These aren’t super sharp and it takes a lot of scissoring to get hair off as much as I like. Woule be good for minor clipping in between groomings. But if you do your own grooming then invest in a more expensive pair. Size is good, and comes in a nice case. See notes above for ease of use

small scissors for small hands
These are great for a beginner like me as smaller scissors are so much easier to wield. I am using them for trimming around the small head of a poodle and they are perfectly proportioned for his tiny head.

Received these and they are tarnished and dull, the teeth do not line up with the blade and snags on hair. I believe they have been previously used as they have a lot of wear and tear.
