Better than expected!
I ordered two of these for our dogs both in what they are calling XL on the product site. Our dogs have similar measurements but are shaped a little differently from each other. Their measurements follow but keep in mind that they are “bully” breeds so they might be shaped differently than your dog.Neck: 17-18″Chest: 25-26″Body: 20-22″Weight: 48-52 poundsI picked up these coats because I wanted something that was nylon on the outside so snow wouldn’t stick to it and felt or cotton or fleece on the inside so it would feel better on their short hair/skin where they have thin hair. These fit the bill, plus they used velcro straps which gave me some wiggle room with the fit. And finally, they were very inexpensive compared to other coats — I got two coats for what I would have had to pay for one.I didn’t have high hopes so when these arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. These are thin-ish but are more than sufficient for keeping a dog warm; I looked at my sister’s dog coats (Kurgo brand) and those aren’t any thicker than these. The plaid fabric is really soft without feeling too “fake” or synthetic. I feel that they are really well made for the price. They have THICK strips of velcro and they were, for me, easy to put on my dogs. I feel that they are true to size, so use the measurement ranges provided; I think the neck and chest are the most important so if your dog is big and at the top of a range in one of those measurements, consider going up a size. If I was able to get them around my barrel-chested block headed dogs, I’m sure these will fit you.I gave these coats 5 stars in stretch because although there is NO stretch, the velcro allows flexibility in fit. I also gave these coats 5 stars in waterproof, but I don’t think they’re actually waterproof. If I was going to keep them, I would get some of that waterproofing spray that you can re-waterproof your raincoat with (it’s basically plastic in a spray bottle and lets the water bead off of fabric). I don’t know if it would work, but that’s what I’d try. I also gave these coats 5 starts in warmth because I think they’re just as thick as any other more expensive dog coat out there EXCEPT the really expensive and specialized ones that are designed for hurricanes or blizzards or other extreme weather.So, why am I returning them? Really, it’s no fault of the coat… it’s just that my dogs are a little oddly shaped. The way the neck velcro sits around their necks makes the “collar” stand out so they look like vampires. How they look doesn’t matter, but it doesn’t do much to keep their necks warm. Also, because their chests are so big, the neck strap covers VERY little of their bodies and I’d like them to have a little more coverage. Lastly, because they are so skinny in their back ends, this coat is very loose on them and the back half of it tends to fold up and uncover them. Again, I don’t think it’s any fault of the coat — I bet they fit a “regularly shaped” dog perfectly and I always anticipate some challenges getting things to fit with bully breeds.In the pro column for this coat: the measurements are accurate, these are true to size (which often is not the case), they are good looking, AND they are very good quality for the price. I would highly recommend giving these a try, even if you do have chunk heads like me. Who knows? Yours might have a shorter neck that allows this coat to fit better! I don’t usually leave reviews but in shopping for dog coats, I really valued the information provided in the reviews. I hope you can find a coat for your friend!

Sizing and fit real good.
Easy on and off. Sizing is good. Brownie is a full grown male deer chihuahua weighing 12 lb. I ordered a medium. Especially easy on and off for a senior in their 70s. Worth the cost , well made.

Really nice dog coat for the money! It has a waterproof side to the coat as well. I’m glad that I sized up in this, and it fits my dog good. My dog usually wears a medium, but I purchased a large.

Fits well, a bit big, but my boy is in between sizes
The coat is not as heavy as I expected and the lining is rather flimsy. A better coat for temps around 40, not the 15 degrees with 0 degree wind chill we have now. I may have to put two coats on my dog.

This jacket is perfect
This jacket is exactly what I was looking for for my 80 pound hound mix. We got an xxl after reading the reviews and it fits him perfectly. He is typically a large so go a size up when ordering. The velcro is huge and sturdy. He looks soooo cute in it and the best part, it keeps him warmer and drier. Thank you for this product!
