Love it for at home grooming for a Maltese
I love these, they feel sturdy, very well made, and cut smoothly. After many times of taking my dog to the groomer and never getting exactly what I wanted on her, not even after takin pictures, I decided to do her grooming myself. I went all out, bought a grooming table, these shears, and some used curved shears from another brand. When I took her to the groomers I would spend $50 each time. I have groomed her at least 6 times, I purchased about $180 in tools, so I have already regained what I spent and saved a little more by doing her grooming myself with these. These shears are also very forgiving for the novice, it’s easy to blend the hair when you cut a little too much in a certain spot. For instance when a dogs hair needs a large trim, I use straight scissors and then even it out with these thinning shears.Overall I’m happy with this purchase. I’ve been using them for about a year now and still as sharp as when I first used them. I even like them better than my other brand curved shears that are more expensive and thinking about changing them for this brand.

Salvation Scissors!
I’m not a professional groomer but had hoped to save some money by grooming my Maltipoo myself. I now have a much greater respect for groomers. I butchered his hair and left him looking like a hot mess, but these saved the day and helped me make him look presentable. I used it on his face and on top of his head to soften the blunt edges the scissors left behind and they cut very easily and did the job extremely well. I felt that the price was high but these are obviously professional shears and worth every penny for groomers. It’s also worth it to my dog to save him the embarrassment of looking like a two year old groomed him.

I am very happy with these shears
I am very happy with these shears ! I rescued a shih tzu / Maltese mix. I have let her hair grow out … Just cutting around her feet and bottom area . As she has aged.. Her hair has changed . If a mat has gotten to big I have just cut it out… I did not want to take her to a groomer… Didn’t want to spend the money and enjoy the grooming process with my puppy. These thinning shears have been wonderful … You don’t have to be as exact and I can cut her hair all over her body and it looks great . I can still keep it long but manageable !

Great Shears!
I didn’t want to spend a lot on a pair of shears. So I saw these and figured I would give them a try. I’m so glad I ordered these shears. I received the shears yesterday. They are very sharp & worked great for my Rough Collie. I used them for trimming the hair around his ears & the back of his neck. I am very pleased with this product. The shears also came in a nice case. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent pair of thinning shears.

Razor sharp blade! Keep out of reach of children.
The thinning shears are used for grooming my mini Schnauzers. I wanted to refine the look of their beard trim and the shears do the job well. Be careful not to run your finger across the flat blade. It is razor sharp. Same goes for getting too close to the skin of your pet. The shears are made for hair, so be careful. The shears come in a nice zippered case for storage.

Makes me look like a pro
These thinning shears are so professional and the results make me look like a professional groomer! They became misaligned the first time I used them, though, so I think there is a trick that I don’t know. It has something to do with the screw.

useless poorly made junk
After seeing so many great reviews for these scissors we ordered a pair for one of our Havanese, the one with the thick, double coat. We patiently waited for their slow delivery. And what a huge disappointment! They don’t cut past the first two inches from the screw. Upon close examination i could see they were not properly ground. There’s a second bevel on the cutting side that extends the last four inches to the tip. There’s no way any scissor could cut if ground that way. I came back to the site here at amazon to examine the tips, and sure enough they don’t match the picture. The tip of the badly ground half of the scissors extends out past the the thinning half. What the heck? These scissors cannot be the same as those rated 4 and 5 stars. These scissors appear to be some thrown together from spare parts junk that was laying around. They certainly aren’t high quality and whomever packed them up to deliver to a paying customer should be ashamed of themselves. I have no option but to play the game and return them. What a waste of everyone’s time. I hope YOU don’t get them after I’ve returned them. Fair warning.

Good reputation, but a shortcoming.
I bought this higher priced thinning shear to work on both of my dogs. I am very pleased with the effectiveness of the cut. My only disappointment is that the thumb hole is too small for my hand. Now, I am not ogre-sized, just have normal men’s hands. I find that using the shears for more than a minute or two cause a very sore spot on my thumb so I am not interested in continuing.I emailed the company from which they were bought. They replied that they did not have a thinning shear with larger finger holes. Oh, well!
