Not very calming.
Not very calming!!I opened package and within 1 minute, she had chewed a hole through the duck’s bill. She tearing out the stuffing like crazy. So much for the calming duck.

Good Toy for strong chewers
Love the Quacking as opposed to squeeking like most toys. Or Killian was able to tear into its backside, but we sent it to “The Hospital” and sewed it back up and has been good as new for weeks now.

much less annoying sound than a squeaker
This is a great toy. I love that it makes more of a quack noise than a squeak. It’s a lot easier on the ears. It’s a good size for my shepherd mix to use a pillow or toss around for play. He also seems to prefer the quack sound. He will walk around with it in his mouth, making the quack sound like he it’s his communication method.

Not for chewers
Definitely NOT for chewers! Our pups had the wing torn off in the first 4 minutes of having the duck.

Poor stitching
Poor Quality. My Labrador ripped into this within seconds of having it. He doesn’t rip into any toys, the stitching is very poor.

After the initial fear of this giant duck, my pup loves it
My 30-lb pitbull puppy was initially terrified of this duck that was half the size of her. After a few minutes though she got brave and now it’s her favorite toy. She carries it around everywhere. I appreciate that the “quack” isn’t super loud or obnoxious. In fact, I haven’t heard it in weeks, so I’m guessing that it’s already been destroyed. She still loves the duck though and just gently gnaws on it. I’m sure she could destroy it if she wanted to, but she hasn’t. I don’t know that it’s really “calming”, but she does like it and looks so cute carrying it around!

Definately not “calming”
Maybe I just have a different type of dog than others out there, but this duck was anything but “calming”. Matter of fact, I didn’t remember it having that description in the name and laughed out loud when I came back on to review it. Calming. Hillarious. Now, the actual toy (ignoring the descriptive name) is a great dog toy. The sound it makes is NOT a squeaker, which does, indeed, make my dog a bit nuts. This one makes a low, grunting sort of sound that made my dog go nuts. Once she pulled the noisemaker out of the middle, I got a good look at it, the sound maker is actually pretty clever. It is a grunt tube (they use them in hunting) stuck into a bit of fluff that is enclosed in a plastic bag. The bag inflates (because: fluff) and then when you squeeze the bag it forces air out the grunt tube to make the noise. Like I said: clever. The rest of the duck is fluffy and soft and will probably be adored to small pieces before the end of the month.
