My cats love toys like this but unfortunately the ball stays in one place no matter what you do. Charge doesn’t last long either.

The USP for this cat gadget over some other cat toys is that with this one, it’s as if Pikachu was reincarnated as an electric cat chaser and as such, serves as a great toy for your cat. The ball runs around and changes directions randomly using the oscillating plastic black tail, on which two positions are provided to attach an included feather, set to move at a pace that isn’t too fast nor slow. For added authenticity, it creates a variety of cat-attractive sounds (which can be turned off), and reacts to movement when your cat knocks it around which is nice as it’ll power down for an indefinite amount of time until said feline is engaged again in playtime. The small form factor that the Mity Rain comes in allows for your cat of any size to easily dribble it around your house for hours.In terms of coloration, it’s easy for you to find when Ms. Mittens decides to kick it down the stairs, thanks to its bright yellow shell. It charges easily via supplied USB-C connection and holds a respectable charge. The included pouch is well-designed with a slit opening along the bottom which negates needing to hunt for a more typical side opening. It rolls perfectly well on carpet but may create a bit more noise on hardwood floors or on kitchen linoleum. The one issue that this ball toy does have however, is that it creates an echo within your walls when it runs in to a wall and continues its rolling routine. We found that it doesn’t present an issue when you’re next to it, but the reverberation does become quite annoying if you’re upstairs and trying to do some work. Then again it might be a positive if you’re trying to be a professional upstairs neighbor….

Great, while it worked
This sounded like a really cool toy, something that my cat would enjoy. So the package arrived, I opened it up and took everything out, it’s self-explanatory how it all works. It comes with a ball, charge cord, remote, bell and feathered combo to attach to the ball if you like, Plus the bag that you put the ball in to. My cat saw me pulling everything out and got curious and came over. After dropping the ball inside the bag and turning it on, it started flopping around and making noise. She perked right up, ran to the edge of the desk and pounced. For about 15 minutes she was leaping on and off the bag, attacking and batting at it. Then everything stopped. My cat was disappointed, Muling, and pawing at it, she wanted to continue playing. Took the ball out, put it on the charger for about an hour, and try to turn it back on, no response. Put it back on for an additional couple of hours, try again, same outcome. Tried third time, leaving the ball to charge overnight, attempted to turn it on again the next morning, and for The third time, absolutely no response. This has been a frustrating experience, it can be difficult to find toys that my cat actually likes, she can be very picky, so to find something that she likes so much right off the bat and having it cease to work so fast, it made this experience quite infuriating.

Cool concept, but the cats don’t agree
All five of my cats are afraid of this Mity rain Interactive Cat toy; at least the large pink mat. If we just let the rolling ball loose, some of our cats will stand back and watch it from afar, but still won’t interact with it. But the pink mat is too much for all of them. It is actually too much for me too. It is large, and the rolling ball causes the entire mat to move around the room. This is fine if you have the space, but really doesn’t work well in smaller homes. Another issue that I had with this Mity Rain Interactive Cat Toy is that there was no included literature. We figured it out, but I would think that something called a ‘rain’ mat should include instructions to clarify that the product is not intended to get wet (at least I don’t think it is…)UPDATE: The seller reached out to me and offered a full refund. They also explained that Mity Rain is the name of their brand (oops! My mistake!–I would have known that if I had fully read the product page!) I decided to increase my rating to 4 stars for a few reasons. One, because the quality of the product is good; my cats are just picky. But we have had to quarantine one of them and she is bored silly, so I think I will try this toy again. The other reason (and it’s an important one in my book), is that the seller reached out to me personally to try to make my experience with their product better, gave me some good suggestions, and even offered a refund if I choose. I really appreciate a seller who takes pride in their product and values their customer’s experience. Thank you Mity Rain!

My older cats enjoy it
My cats are all over the age of 10, and they have a lot of fun with this. They love to chase the toy that moves under the fabric. They get tired of it, but they play for quite some time before they do. I just put it away for a couple of days, bring it back out, and they are interested again. It’s a big hit!
