I’m realistic – Great for Labrador Retrievers!
I’m realistic in that my dogs toys don’t last. They never have. Now we have her and her ADD puppy with us so the toys have to stand up to two heavy lab chewers. We had tried a wide variety of toys that fell apart the day you bought them or within the first week. We thought we had found the answer with Nylabone chews and discovered that the labs in particular chew so hard, those things break teeth. My lab & my sister’s guide dog lab both broke teeth on Nylabone so no more of those in my house. Then I found the Kyjen fire hose. Now, it is unrealistic if you have a chewer to expect any toy to last a long time. It’s like thinking one package of diapers is all you’ll ever need. Or one set of Lego’s. No. Dogs are destructive little four legged critters. So if you have a big chewer, be happy if you find a toy that lasts long enough to pay for itself. The fire hose does that in our house. Her first one lasted her about six months and then she had a litter of pups. When they were about 6 weeks old, they started loving mom’s fire hose. So it fell apart a few weeks later. I bought another one and another toy for our puppy we were keeping. It lasted about six months again and finally we watched them gleefully shred it around the living room one night. So it was time for another one. I love these things. Six months is a long time for two Labrador retrievers to enjoy a toy. I’ve also started testing new toys and buying something new with each fire hose. So far the fire hose is superior to the other toys we’ve tried. – Squirrels with a tree house though the puppy loved this one, the squirrels were done within a month.- Waterbottle plushie – again puppy loves plush so this was a favorite but it barely lasted a month and a half. This time we’re testing the Kyjen egg plush with the fire hose. We’ll see which one outlasts the other. In the end though, for the price of the fire hose especially on the dog toy market I’m extremely happy with the time it lasts. Our dogs love it and we haven’t broken teeth on one yet! Even puppies chewed it without any mishap. So I highly recommend this toy, but I think you have to understand it isn’t going to last forever. No toy will if your dog is rough.

Dachshund finds that it has hidden badger qualities
Not exactly indestructible, but certainly a challenge. Our last one apparently reminded our miniature dachshund of a badger and activated the following scenario:Minky is a champion eviscerator. She is particularly avid about the removal of squeakers — no doubt somehow related to her genetic heritage as a “badger dog.”According to Wikipedia, “the dachshund was bred to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals.” Minky is a miniature and every molecule is true to her breed. For her to derive the most fulfillment, the squeaky object needs to be buried first so she constructs an elaborate pile of blankets and pillows over the quasi- badger to serve as its den. Then she walks away and sniffs around.Following the “scent” she approaches the pile and begins digging. Then she practices her innate drive – in her version of predation substitution. She digs down and discovers the hidden “badger.” Once extracted, it is shaken vigorously and then diligently eviscerated until the squeaker is removed. The toy has not ceased to amuse, however. She continues to pull at the near indestructible firehouse covering and to extract the fluffy “guts” of her victim.I don’t remember Minky ever having this mech fun with a toy.Because its original use was as a fetch toy for our GS and Newfie, we required a replacement. I bought 4.A toy with hidden joy.

    Subpar squeaker
We have a Weiner dog that literally murders EVERY toy we bring home but so far this one is holding up pretty good, except for the squeaker, they ( we have 3 others) killed it right away. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the tiny cheap squeaker.

    My doggo’s #1
My dog ADORES this toy. It’s so cheap—I bought three more so she has outdoor and indoor ones.It stands up surprisingly well, though any toy would be unable to hold up if a dog is determined to destroy it. My dog likes to meticulously tear apart any soft/semi-soft toy, but this one she just trots around the house with it and chews on it. The corners get a bit worn but the material has held up amazingly well. The squeakers are very subtle (perfect for my dog that doesn’t like squeaky toys), and the material is strong while still being flexible. Her first one was purchased on a whim and we didn’t supervise her very closely so it’s a little more weathered, but it’s still going and all the others are holding strong. It’s one of the few toys we feel comfortable leaving with her when she’s crated. To reiterate—ANY toy will be torn apart if you dog is determined to do so. If your dog is prone to that, I would suggest this toy be played with under supervision, but it’s very strong and isn’t easily ripped, so no accidents there. I 100,000x recommend getting a few of them. The price point can’t be beat and the enjoyment factor is through the roof.Only con (not really) is it’s hard to give a simple name to, so learning the name of her favorite toy has proven a challenge!

Not meant for big dogs, such as Cane Corsos
The reason I bought 2 was the claim that is “built tuff” which implies it’s a sturdy toy. With in 20 minutes of having the toys, both of my dogs had already ripped stitching out and pulled the black top loose. If you have dogs that are tuff on toys, this isn’t the right toy. It was a waste of money for me and a disappointment to my fur babies!

The wee man has great fun with this, playing tug of war … The toy is sturdy, well put together, and is lasting very well, because i never let him take it away and chew it like he does with his other cheaper toys …I doubt theres a toy in existence that lasts very long, when the dog is left to chew on it to their hearts content … So i reckon the more expensive toys should be special treat ones ..It always stays with me .. and for that reason, stays intact… but also, because he never gets to take it away and chew it, and i put it away when were not playing with it, he always remains keenly interested in it …so this toy is one of his special toys, that he enjoys in small doses .. he’ll never get bored with it like his pother toys, and should last a life time on that basis …

Good quality, but my american bully had it chewed in half a day,but she is a big chewer.

We have a 100lb heavy chewer. Usually a soft toy will last no more than 45 minutes before there is stuffing everywhere. We have had this toy for a week and you can see in the pictures, he has barely made a dent. I’m sure it won’t last forever, but a good price to have a toy last this long.
