Great Replacement Scoop
If you are looking to get rid of those cheap plastic scoops that get stained so bad after a month that you have to buy a new one, I highly recommend this scoop. The main thing that make me like it is something I did not think I would even notice. Sometimes when lifting a clump the preassembled ones held together by rivets strain under the weight because the tensile strength of metal at the rivet is just not able to handle the weight. Because this one is self assembled using a hex screw, rather then bending you will notice the hex loosening ever so slightly. Not enough to cause it to spill or come loose, but just enough that you know you need to tighten it. This is a great scoop, even if you don’t need a replacement, I recommend you get this as one, You will be glad you did,

Great!
This scoop is excellent. The stainless steel is strong and easy to clean, and it makes the job quick and efficient. The stand is a great touch and keeps everything tidy and within reach. It feels durable and looks good too. Definitely a big step up from plastic scoops.

Nice Cat Litter Scoop
This cat litter scoop seems to be a nicely made product. I was a bit disappointed due to the screw that was included to attach the handle to the scoop was a defective screw. However, I was able to use it to put the scoop and handle together. The front of the scoop has rather small holes, which seem to take longer for the loose litter to fall through, however, just tilting the front of the scoop up allows the litter to go to the back of the scoop where it quickly falls through the wider openings there. When I first used the scoop I kind of felt that it was a bit flimsy, but there is a supporting piece that is attached along with the handle, and it does hold up well. I am pleased with this scoop.

Sturdy enough for scraping stainless steel boxes
I upgraded to a stainless steel litter box recently, which I absolutely love. However, the litter sometimes sticks to the bottom or sides of the pan, and it’s incredibly hard to remove with the plastic littler scoop I have been using. This Ownpets Stainless Steel Litter Scoop is sturdy enough to scrape the bottom of the box and get all the stuck-on litter up. I like that it has two different sized holes for the clean litter to fall through, but unfortunately, the wider-spaced ones near the back of the scoop are too large and let some small clumps back into the litter. To be most effective, I simply use this scoop initially to scrape up all the bits on the bottom of the pan, and then filter it with my smaller-holed plastic scoop. I wish there was one solution that fit both needs, but I am glad to have something to scrape the bottom.

Superb Scoop
I’ve used a plastic scoop for many, many years and thought nothing could improve upon the easy cleaning. Well, I was wrong. This wood-handled, metal scoop comes packaged with the screw, hex key and metal hanging hook. It has no instructions, but it’s simply a one step process to insert the screw over the hook tab and into the handle. The scoop works sooo smoothly to fully clear the litter box surfaces and pick up any and all deposits. It sifts out everything but clean litter and empties fully. It’s well-balanced, and it hangs up neatly. I rinsed it to see how it cleans, and it washed the litter film completely with a single fast rinse. This is a great tool to have in your litter box armamentarium!

Super scooper!
Multiple cats mean big litter boxes and lots of scooping. Plastic scoops don’t handle digging deep or large loads. I did try a chicken poop scoop but the handle size ended up being a problem and causing issues with my shoulder. This has been a great solution! It’s sturdy can handles digging deeper to clean everything out, handles heavy loads though I do wish it was a bit wider. Not a big deal, just means a few extra passes. It has a hole at the top of the handle so it can be hung from a hook. The handle is solid and feels really comfortable in the hand. Overall a really great buy!

Looks Nice, But Feels Lacking
Ownpets Stainless Steel Cat Litter Scoop with Stand – Reviewed March 2025.I snagged the Ownpets Stainless Steel Cat Litter Scoop thinking it’d be a classy upgrade to my usual routine. Assembly was a bit of an adventure – without instructions, I initially misjudged where to place the hook. I’m relieved I caught it before trying to use it, though! In terms of looks, it’s quite appealing with its wooden handle, yet upon closer inspection, the handle alignment seems off. It’s somewhat rough to touch, so I’m a bit skeptical about its longevity without extra care. The scoop itself is lightweight but has a few small imperfections in the stainless steel that make me question its durability. The way it hangs on the litterbox is also a bit nerve-wracking – the hook isn’t wide enough to feel secure on my stainless steel box.Unfortunately, I found it uncomfortable to hold for any prolonged scooping. I’ll be using this scoop for scraping the bottom of the box, but for actually shoveling the litter, it’s a bust with my current setup. And let’s not forget the hassle I faced trying to effectively filter out my pine litter. While it has its visual perks, functionally it leaves a bit to be desired.
