    Better for smaller dogs
We have a 8 month old Boxer puppy and this is too small for him. It works fantastic for our 10 year old dachshund mix, though! He loves the different boxes and “playing” for his food. This puzzle feeder is made from plastic and takes up the footprint of a size of paper (maybe a bit bigger). It has doors, sliders, and spinners. It is noisy when the dog is feeding as the unit is smacked by their paws and scrapes against the floor. A rubber ring on the bottom would help protect floors and reduce noise. In short- this feeder is fine for smaller dogs, but it could be made better.

    Good value!
My dog is a voracious chewer but he’s surprisingly gentle with this toy. Took him all about 30 seconds to figure out, but he loves using it when I’m away to curb his separation anxiety. It helps him anticipate a positive treat that’s only for when I’m away! The knob came unattached in the box and looked previously opened, but snapped back in with a little effort. This is definitely suited to smaller/medium sized dogs, as larger ones muzzles would have a really hard time fishing out the kibble. Thankfully my boy has a pretty pointy snoot and had no trouble working the flapper doors and moving the pieces to the side to get his prize. For 20$, this provides hours of entertainment and is totally worth it. Well constructed, fun for my dog, and absolutely worth it!

He was interested for about 5 minutes
I have 2 cats; the older one is 13 and laid back. The younger one is 6 and an 18lb bulldozer. Cat toys are hit or miss, you never know which toys a cat will like. The younger cat is pretty smart and treat oriented. The older one won’t compete with the bulldozer, I’ll usually sneak him goodies when the other one isn’t around. When I saw this toy puzzle available as a free promotional I ordered it. Previously the younger cat has bee adept at figuring out puzzles such as small holes cut in boxes and he has to work to get treats out of it. i put some treats in the new puzzle box to see what happened. Both cats were interested in the smell of treats but the older black cat retreated once the younger white bulldozer started shoving the box around. He tried for about 5 minutes to get the treats out, moving the levers and pawing into the slots. I didn’t count how many were there but I don’t think he managed to get any out. It might be that his polydactyl paw is too large to get into the small slots. Sometimes he will play with his toys when I’m not around so I’ll check regularly to see if he’s worked any of the treats out when I’m not looking. For now, not a lot of interest. I will update if he manages to get the treats or shows more interest.

    I would not get this
I arrived and it looks just like it was described.. the only problem I have and the reason it’s getting one star is because it is only four dogs as stated on the box. So it looks like how they have it on sale. It’s the same thing obviously but the problem is it is not for cats at all and they said it was for cats. My cat cannot use this so it gets one star. And it also gets one star because I do not feel that it is a well-made item. I think that is cheaply made, low quality control. Kind of a disappointment all around.. if you have a dog, maybe it’s for you, but I don’t think it will hold up overtime

Decent puzzle toy, not very durable
Decent puzzle toy, but my corgi mix pulled two of the little blue caps out after 2 uses. Definitely a better fit for less voracious or really small dogs

    Fantastic buy! Get it!
I have a standard poodle and with their high intelligence they require a good bit of mental stimulation. My dog absolutely loves this puzzle feeder! I thought I would use it occasionally but I’ve fully replaced his food bowl with it. I like that it slows him down with eating too, which is important with all dogs but larger breeds especially since they are more prone to dangerous bloat. This works exactly as it should, is a good size and the color combo is even cute. Literally nothing that I dislike about it. So, so happy I got this! Give it a go!!

    Good idea, very poorly executed.
A good idea, just very poorly executed. I wanted to love this for my kiddos, but it’s just a bunch of random designs/compartments to add treats without any logic. My furry kids are playing with it once I add treats, but ultimately the smartest one decided to just flip it over! I wish they’d put a little bit of thought into the design because it’s such a good idea to have these toys for development and entertainment.

    Cats still can’t solve.
I got this puzzle for my extremely smart cat that loves puzzles. I was disappointed when my cat got frustrated because she just can’t seem to figure this out. All of the previous puzzles we have tried have had multiple ways a pet could solve to get a treat. This puzzle is very limited. You put treats in where the spinning wheel/paddle is. When the pet spins it the treats move to either one side or the other. One side has them end up under one of two buttons that can be slid back and forth to reveal treats. The other side sends treats to one of two hidden compartments that must have the lid lifted to reveal. Treats on this side may also go into a compartment where there is a slide mechanism that when moved slides treats into the two hidden compartments. I think the problem with this puzzle is that it requires too many steps without reward. My cats still can’t figure out to lift the lid on the hidden compartments but they have figured out the rest. Problem is, most of the treats go in those compartments. My golden retriever did figure out how to open the compartments though. The material/construction seems good quality as this didn’t break when it fell from the counter onto the tile floor. It’s fairly light and slides around a bit too easily though. All in all about the same price as other puzzles but I definitely would not get this puzzle as a first puzzle. It’s better suited for those pets that are willing to stick with it to solve it.
