This thing works
This thing works. I had to go over the same spots multiple times before it really brought the carpet back to life. Some people recommend using a dinner fork. This thing works better. It will pull some of the carpet out of the Matt is really bad but the amount is nothing to be concerned with. I used this tool then shampoos the carpet with an extractor and it looks new again.

I should have paid more attention to the dimensions; I was sort of expecting this to be a little wider. With the narrow width (4.9″) it is okay for a small area, but for a full room carpet will require a bit more work. I tried it out today and it appears to be well constructed and should hold up well. As for performance, I’m not all that impressed. I did a small area in my living room that is a little matted, but I don’t really see a difference in the carpet’s appearance. But for $10, I’ll go ahead and keep it.

Didn’t work on a shag carpet
This does not work on shag carpets. The prongs are too close together. It just pulls the carpet fibers out. It doesn’t fluff the carpet fibers.

I had my doubts but it’s perfect! I was going to throw this expensive rug away and this was my last effort to say it! It takes some muscles, but it picks up the matted parts so well! I love it!
