Great if you can get your cat to sit still
These are very good nail clippers. Now if someone could tell me how to get my cat to sit still so I can use them, that would be perfect! I’m able to get 2-3 nails done at a time before my cat causes such a hissy fit that I have to give up or risk getting bit or scratched. It takes me several days to get the job done. The nail shield is a great idea but it doesn’t stay in place so I just took it off. The clippers have a nice feel and the spring works well. I like that it has a button to hold them closed for storage. Because they are made from plastic I’m not sure how they will hold up, but at this price point, I think they are a good value.

I really like these pet nail clippers!! It’s a well-made little item that I find very convenient and its also kind of cute. Not that looks matter for a nail clipper, but since I love the color so much, these are automatically considered ‘cute.’ As for performance, they are sharp enough to give a nice, smooth, clean cut to my kitties nails. I don’t always find it necessary to cut nails and follow with filing down, but if filing is needed, there is a file conveniently stored in the handle of the clippers.There are also a few other really handy features available on these clippers. There is a lighting option on the clippers that allow you to see exactly what part of the nails are being clipped. With lighting this close its possible to see the quick of the nails and avoid cutting into it and hurting my fur babies. The light is turned on and off by the button that is on the leg of the clippers. There is also a shield that attaches behind the clippers. This shield is meant to stop clippings from flying away. The shield easily snaps onto the top of the clippers, but if you prefer not to use it or if it needs cleaning, or whatever, the shield is easily removed… just pull it off. Lastly, as a great safety feature, there is a button on the top of the clippers that sits immediately below the shield attachment. This button should be used when the clippers are not in use and/or stored. The button keeps the legs and the blades closed. This way, there are no mistakes or mishaps.These pet nail clippers are totally a ‘10’ in my book and as such they have more than earned 5 stars!!

Sharp, Precise, and Sanity-Saving
I was really eager to try these clippers because, honestly, trimming my dog’s nails had become a full-blown operation. With my usual squeeze-style clippers, I needed my glasses, a headlamp, and all my patience just to see what I was doing. I even have a grinder with a built-in light, but the sound and vibration are a no-go—my dog panics. She’s smart too; the moment she sees me with the glasses or headlamp, she’s already on edge, and when she sees me bend and spotlight toward her back, the anxiety spikes.These clippers changed everything. They’re marketed for small pets, but my 55-pound dog has average-sized nails, and they handled them perfectly. Her nails are black, so I can’t see the quick, but the built-in LED light shines directly on the nail, making it easy to aim and trim quickly. I managed to clip three nails before she even caught on—and with some sweet talk, I finished one paw and even snuck in another nail on a separate foot. That’s a win for DIY nail clipping on my own dog.They’re extra sharp with zero resistance, which is critical when you’ve only got seconds before a dog decides she’s done. While she tolerates most grooming, nail clipping is the one thing she can’t stand. Being able to work faster and more precisely has made it way less stressful for both of us.

helpful for my cat’s nails
This Pet Nail Clipper with Light for Cats & Small Dogs Puppies, Ultra Bright LED to Illuminate Nail Bloodline to Avoid Over Cutting, Extra-Sharp and Durable Cat Claw Trimmer with Nail File (Green) by IPTPAS is helpful for my cat’s nails. I have struggled cutting his nails because I have never had a cat with white fut on their paws and I cannot see his clear nails. It’s caused lots of problems for both of us. This was helpful but not perfect. The light is bright and helps me to see his nails which makes the process MUCH smoother. However, the light would not stay on. I tried all sorts of things and no matter what, I had to go through turning it off and back on again and shaking the clippers each time I used them. The nail shield is a great idea but it doesn’t stay in place and just falls off. I ended up taking it all the way off and not using it. The clippers have a nice feel and the spring action works well to cut the nails. I like that it has a button to hold them closed for storage. I tried the nail file, but as expected, it didn’t go over well with my kitty. So, I’m giving it 4 stars. The cutting works well. The light helps when it works. And, my cat didn’t fight me when I cut his nails with this clipper. So, in that sense, it mostly worked for me.

too big
the clipper blades are on very big pieces of metal. The metal part does not fit between my cats’ claws and the pad on their feet. My cats are not particularly small. This means it’s essentially unusable.I don’t know who is advertising this for ‘cats and small dogs.’

Nice pet nail clippers
We have two cats and these toenail clippers are great for both of them. It’s so nice that it has a switch that will hold them closed when not in use. It’s also even better that it has a light that you can switch on and off as needed. Another great feature is the clear plastic guard. When trimming nails, they tend to fly everywhere, including into your face. This guard keeps them from flying up into the face of the person cutting the nails. It’s great quality and we are very happy with how they’ve worked with both of our cats. The larger handles make it easier to hang onto than the smaller scissor style ones. It is a good value for the money. Definitely recommend. Box says this is usable for dogs or cats. We only have cats.
