Pet Qwerks Dinosaur BarkBone – Wood Dog Bone for Moderate Chewers – Peanut Butter Flavor – 8.5″, Small Breeds

Always supervise pets while chewing and remove from the pet if it is consuming the chew or if damaged. Chew marks or small granules are safe and to be expected. Giving your dog non-edible chews and bones also massages their gums and provides scraping action on their teeth, much like a dental hygienist descaling the plaque from human teeth. It helps healthy chewing and makes for a more entertaining experience. It discourages destructive behavior when they get bored. Pet Qwerks offers a big variety of flavors, shapes and sizes of nylon chews

Seriously tough bone for aggression chewers
These bones are phenomenal! I have 2 large breed dogs; both aggressive chewers and nothing I have bought in the past has really lasted. Or they just lose interest super fast. These are great! They are easy to carry (vs the straight bones). They seem to prefer these. They like the taste and there is no weird smells for us humans. They are hard, but not loud when they chew on them or drop them on the wood floors. Seem safe and like the won’t splinter off like our old ones. They look clean and no hard edges even after they chew on them. You won’t be disappointed!!

Durable and holds up to vigorous chewing of a bill dog
It was bigger than I thought but the dog loves it. Very durable

    CLEAN TEETH & Happy Pups!
Both our rescue pups LOVE these bones. Started out with just a large, but ordered a medium for the smaller dog a few days later (they’re 50 and 30 lbs, so I ordered medium bone, too), but the “little sister” often steals both.Even though they’re both really aggressive chewers (the bigger dog shreds “indestructible” toys), these have lasted really well. That was really all I was hoping for – a durable chew toy that they wouldn’t destroy in an afternoon. But they’ve ALSO done an excellent job cleaning their teeth! I wasn’t expecting that, so I didn’t take a “before” pic, but the smaller dog (3 y/o Aussie mix) was about due for a cleaning, and the bigger dog (6 y/o golden retriever mix) had GROSS yellow teeth with heavy plaque buildup and the vet wanted to knock her out to do a thorough dental cleaning. Not only is that crazy expensive (not to mention a little risky any time you fully sedate an animal), it is super STRESSFUL for her because she HATES the vet. (ANY vet. Or groomer. And most strangers for that matter.)But after just ONE evening of them chewing on the BarkBone (taking turns that first day since we only had one), it had made a HUGE difference in the cleanliness of their teeth, I couldn’t believe it! Now with regular use, you can see how clean the bigger dog’s teeth are. (The smaller dog’s are even better, but hers weren’t as bad to start.) It even took care of the worst patch of yellow-brown plaque on her back teeth, but I couldn’t get a clear shot of those.Suffice it to say that the next time we visit the vet, it’ll just be the “normal” 30 min checkup vs a very expensive day-long event where she has to be knocked out.Only “CON” to these – they are heavy, hard, and get really sharp, so they hurt like heck to trip over or step on!More below, if interested. May be TMI:The reason the golden retriever’s teeth are so bad is she has a digestive disorder called EPI, which severely restricts her diet to “predigested” soft foods, so she can’t really have treats. Her medical issues have required lots of vet visits over the years, and she HATES it (stress pooping repeatedly in the office is frowned upon). But her teeth were so awful we were concerned it would cause even more health problems, so I was planning to schedule the dental cleaning on her next checkup this summer. Very thankful we no longer have to do that.

    Really big, dog loves it.
Edited: Bone is holding up well. I mistakenly thought I ordered a Nylabone. IWhen I received the bone it appeared to be the same material so I thought I’d try it.It’s really big & the dog loves it. Unfortunately it is already being chewed away. He is a 9 month old puppy & is only 60 lbs. lbs. It should’ve lasted longer. The second picture shows how big this bone is compared to his other brand name bone which is small & lasted 8+ months.I always bought the name brand for my other dogs up to 160 lbs. They lasted for over a year. This one should not be whittling away in a week.Hopefully I’m wrong & it will last. Will update then

    Great for heavy chewers
My dog is like a demonnn chewer & he’s had this bone for a week & it’s still going strong! He loves it, keeps him busy but most importantly it LASTS!

    Best bone for chewers
My dachshund is a chewed and this bone is the best thing. He plays with it all day. No worries of him eating it. Just chews.

    Choking Hazard
I have a 7 month old GSD/ACD mix who is a powerful chewer. I have to give the company credit for a strong sturdy bone, but they claimed the little rice sized pieces that will naturally come off with chewing, was easily digestible and safe. Even though my dog LOVED this bone, after only several days of chewing off and on (I don’t let her chew a bone non-stop, I give it to her a couple of times a day for short intervals), she was at my feet chewing the bone when I was at my computer when I noticed her gagging – violently! I jumped up in panic mode to help calm her as she was gagging and began to vomit. I saw a little blood mixed in, and determined the blood was coming from her gums and also scratched the back of her throat causing it to bleed. This went on for 10 minutes and scared the HELL out of me. I would only recommend this bone to light or gentler chewers . . . NOT power chewers like my dog. It’s a choking hazard.

    pet qwerks chew bone
Just what our two GSD power chewers needed. Holds up well. This is a second set, the first lasted years. Yes they do chew off minute bits, but it takes years and not enough to matter. Good quality. Our GSD’s are picky and dont care for some of the other main line brands. They love these. Hard, but not too hard.

Be careful selecting your size!! This was our first time ordering this bone online and without thinking I selected the “Large” size. I was shocked when a tiny bone arrived and thought that it must be an error. Turns out the error was all my fault but really, who assumes a “Large” size would only be 6 inches!?! In fact, the “Large” is the SMALLEST size of this bone. Why they start the sizing with “Large” as the smallest size is beyond me – it is not consistent with other bone brands and is very misleading. For buying the smallest size available I think the price is a bit high. The bone came wrapped in plastic – I appreciate that as I assume it helps keep the smell/taste better than sitting around a factory waiting for shipment.
