HERE’S HOW TO CONTROL THE JUNGLE NOISE FROM IT…
This was the first toy my rescue puppy played with at her new home with us five years ago … it eventually stopped working and was cast aside. I always thought it was really clever and different, mostly because it isn’t just a repeat of a couple of noises like some (one especially that is awful, just repeating “hey big doggie, I GOT cha!!” eight million times a day, but has over 20 sounds, per its maker. The other day I looked at the old dead one and got the PetQwerks name off it, searched, and found it on good ol’ Amazon. As several reviewers note–and as its tag admits–“your dog will love it, but it will drive you crazy” — I didn’t think this would he the case for us, as we’d already had one and enjoyed it along with the pup.BUT I think it is both louder and easier to activate now — a new and improved version apparently. I think it even irritates the dog, who gives it a “look” when it starts roaring, barking, and screeching across the room, seemingly by itself. The “key” (pun intended) to this problem is to retain the little clear plastic piece that you pull out when you first get the toy working. This piece keeps the battery from making contact and the toy from giving postal workers heart attacks thinking they’re delivering a shipment of fighting weasels or illegal wildlife species.I had thrown it away. As soon as I realized my mistake, I tried to make a similar plastic piece, with no luck. Fortunately I found the original, and now keep it in a place where it will not get lost. It would be smarter, come to think of it, to put a colorful and visible tag on it so it won’t get lost. As it is, it’s as easy to overlook as a contact lens dropped on the floor.Another thing — I ordered a medium size and got a ball that is larger than I wanted even though my dog is over 90 pounds. It is larger than a tennis ball. Large must be reeally big. Should note also that is is durable and I believe safe.

Such short fun!
So it lasted one evening. The concept is great and I expected this one to last much longer because of the tire cover. It stopped making noises about 3 hours after I opened it. Keep in mind they slept for 1 of those hours and went for a walk came back and played but ignored it because it stopped making noises. I’ve attached a photo. Keep in mind it arrived yesterday, gave it to the dogs at 6:30 pm. By 9:30 pm, it was done. I would expect this level of damage from a larger dog, but I have two mini Aussies. Only one of them would go near it. I also wouldn’t care if the tire part got a little wear and tear but this is extremely short playtime. I also purchased the ball. It still works, so I may have gotten a defective one. Not sure. I’ll return and try again. I posted a photo because the boy dog was totally into it. The plain ball that talks is a HUGE hit. It got lost but suddenly responded to their noises. It was so funny. I’ll have to write a review for the plain ball.

Yes, it will get destroyed. No, it isn’t a waste of your money.
Okay, I just wanted to say I’ve bought this item three times even tho my huge super chewer dogs inevitably destroy it, and here’s why: It’s NOT a chew toy!Pretty much *ANY* toy will not survive a strong chewer unless it is made from an indestructible material, and indestructible materials are often dangerous for doggy teeth. The noises this thing makes entices dogs to be extra violent on it.The trick is, you need to supervise them with the toy and if they move from chasing/bouncing it to “gnawing furiously” remove it and replace it with a safe treat toy to chew on (like a rawhide or antler, or a kong stuffed with frozen/difficult to remove treats) to satisfy their chewing needs on a safer item. This will extend the life of the toy. This way, the only damage it takes is from them mouthing/throwing it, which is what it is designed to withstand. This method is the only safe way to play with just about any play toy if you have SUPER chewers. There are many toys out there that will last longer, however, this one makes noise and that is super valuable to enrich your dogs’ life. In essence, you’re paying (insert current price of this item) to get several hours of SUPERVISED play time out of this toy over the course of several months. As far as noise makers go, this is only one of two toys I have found to hold up long enough to be worth the price. Go for it.

A Nice Novelty
I really want all dog toys to be durable as my pup is a chewer. However dog owners will know this is not possible. This is true for the PetQwerks Animal Sounds X-Tire Ball. It made lots of interesting animal sounds my dog absolutely LOVES, however he destroyed it within a week. And this is only because he took time to roll it around to hear the sounds before he finally got tired of them and focused in on chewing the ball apart. The tire treads are flexible and this made chewing it to pieces a lot easier for my dog. I finally had to take it away from him, otherwise he would eat the tread pieces. Overall this toy is a nice idea, but not ideal to let a heavy chewer play unattended.

I am a big fan of Pet Qwerks and keep buying their stuff very happily. Unfortunately this toy is not one of their good ones.It comes with a warning that “this is not a chewing toy” . It is very true , my 5 month puppy managed to bite off a mouthful of plastic within minutes after being introduced to the toy. So any toy that is designed for dogs should have some level of bite-ability , this toy doesnt have that. Its not only “not a chewing toy” also shouldnt be allowed anywhere near dogs because a larger dog will shred it to bits and eat plastic bits under 5 minutes.bottom line: done buy it.

Dogs love this toy

Al recibir el producto la verdad pensé que sería súper resistente pero si tus perros son destructores este no es el juguete, les duro 1 hora para destruirlo quedando la bola de en medio, creo que es más para un perro pequeño aunque es bastante pesado

I often have to take this toy away after 5 minutes of play in order to make it last. The rubber shell does make it last longer than other babble balls however he loves to destroy things. He is obsessed with this toy and will sit staring at where I’ve ‘hid’ the toy on him crying because he’s not done playing.
