Don’t look quite like the pictures and holds the 10 lb cat.
These stairs ramp are something different. Wrapped in 5 – yes, 5!! – layers of shipping bags and overwrap. May have actually be 6 layers, but what’s one more layer – just more plastic. I forgot to take the pictures of what it looked like after finally having it released from the restraining plastic. A big, gray curve of something. The instructions say to allow 48 hours for plumping. So we confined it to the pantry and closed the door. The cats were sitting around watching, and had the “what the heck is this?” expressions. And then they promptly forgot about it and left. Left it alone and checked it out when I got home from work the next evening. Huge improvement, looked more like a ramp than steps. And firmer. Left it confined in the pantry till the grand reveal the next night.Yes, the stairs really did plump up after 48 hours. However, they don’t have the well defined individual steps as in the pictures. In real life, the description part on the included label of “RAMP” is more accurate. The Diva of the house decided to show off during the pics, and she goes about 10 lbs. I really don’t think this will be a useful items for any pet much over about 20 lbs. There isn’t much real support under the steps, so how stable with a larger, heavier pet is questionable. I’ve been trying to get my 20 lbs cat to try it but he kind of shook his head as in “NO WAY” and ran away. The smallest cat tried it, and she a whopping 8 lbs. Barely made an impression as she ran up the steps, then made a point of jumping over them on the way down.I was hoping to replace the smaller wooden steps that are not kind to human toes during the night. But as you can see in the pictures, these stick way out past the bench at the base of our bed. If you look close, you’ll see the other steps on the far side of the bed. Both hubby and I have tripped over these steps in the dark, so we may not be using them. They will work on the side of my son’s bed, and we may try them in his room. The removable & washable cover is a great idea but I’m not looking forward to taking it off and then putting it back on. When I ordered, the 5 tier version was about $60. That’s a lot for soft steps, even if the human toes survive walking into them. For a bigger pet than my 10 & 15 lb cats, I would probably lean more towards a wooden type, something a lot more stable. Even in my tootsies cry every time I hit them during the night.

    Perfect for my chiweenie
She injured her back leg 4 weeks ago. Because this is soft and not steep she is able to go up and down easily..

    Sturdy and solid
This has been the best set of pet stairs I’ve owned so far. I’ve owned several that were basically hollow inside and held up by plastic sheets that fit together inside the fabric. These are all solid foam. While it does make the stairs a little squishy when our dogs climb up them, it also allows them to work like a mix of a ramp and stairs. When you get them, open the bag and let the foam completely raise for about 2 days. You’ll initially think that there’s no way the foam is going to expand that much but it will. So very easy to “assemble” since you don’t have to do anything! These are the perfect height for a bed or a couch and I like that it’s broken up into multiple smaller steps instead of larger steps.

    Excellent pet steps
I’ve been looking for pet steps for this dog for quite a while. Many are not high enough, many are too long or wide and take up too much space in the bedroom, some are too flimsy or too solid, many are just too pricey. These, for our needs, are perfect.Like many things these days, these steps come very compressed and rolled up, like a sleeping bag. You need to remove the outer plastic and then the inner wrapping around them. Note that for some reason (maybe time of day when I shot these) the color on those first photos is not accurate—too much purple. You can see when they’re first unwrapped that the fabric outside seems to be too large for the foam—the instructions say to allow 48 hours for expansion, but they seem to fill out in a day, maybe even less. These are kind of a combination of steps and ramp, and I think that’s very helpful for the pet; the incline seems to be easy to use, the fabric offers good traction, and they don’t take up very much space. The fabric is easily removable (it unzips) so it can be washed when needed. My bed is about 30” high, because I have a memory foam topper on top of a traditional mattress and box spring. I got the large, five-step size. The height of the stairs is about 22”, which means my medium-sized dog can easily get from the top “step” to the bed (see below, though). These take up 32” in floor space in length, and about a foot and a half in width. The cover has a handle so you can easily move these around. They’re sturdy but not heavy.I find no flaws whatsoever in this stair/ramp combination. My problem is that my dog is a rescue and was obviously trained not to come up on a couch or a bed, and, knowing that was one reason it’s taken me so long to buy a product like this. So, as you can see, I’m in the process of training her to use the stairs. But in terms of size, angle, sturdiness, and overall usefulness, I think these are great!

Cost me money and item was damaged
This item came shrink wrapped so much that they would not expand to full size and was distorted. When we wanted to return them I had to spend $20 for a box because we could not fit back to the tiny size it arrived shrink-wrapped. Very unhappy and it cost me money to return it.

3-step ramp perfect for our couch
Works well for my 30lb dog. The foam is dense enough to make the ramp stable, and to not collapse under his weight. It took a little while for it get into shape, which is to be expected since it came completely flattened and rolled up in a vacuum sealed bag. We already have a heavy-duty wooden ramp for the bed so even our largest 150lb dogs can walk up, but we needed a smaller for the couch, so our smallest dog doesn’t have to jump. This 3-step foam ramp is the perfect size for the couch. Doesn’t take up much space either, and my dog uses it with ease, his paws get a good grip on the fabric. It’s soft and also good to use as a foot rest. The cover is removable and washable. The grey color fits in everywhere. Very happy with this ramp.
