    Chihuahuas love it!
I have 2 chihuahuas: 7 pounds and 9 pounds. They sleep in bed with us. But we got tired of having so much dog hair everywhere and I decided to get 2 of these “dog caves” (one small; one large) to put at the foot of the bed to see what would happen. My idea is a success for the most part. When the first cave arrived, it was still summer and both dogs wanted to lounge on top of it during the day and night. The large cave took another 2 weeks (?) to arrive. It turns out that the small cave is plenty large for either dog, and I should have just bought 2 small caves.Anyway, the dogs sort of competed for who got to lounge atop the first cave. The large cave finally arrived and I put it alongside the small one, both at the foot of our king size bed.Now it’s winter and our smaller chihuahua sleeps inside the cave every night. The pictures shows him in the small cave… i.e. 7 pound dog in the small cave, and there is about 3 inches of extra space on each side of him. Plenty large. Our larger chihuahua sleeps on top of a cave during the day and part of the night, but most nights he saunters to the head of the bed and gets under the covers with us (like he always has). He has never gotten inside either cave AFAIK.They are very very soft. I have washed and dried both of them 3 times by now, in warm water and they have held up. There was some minimal shedding before I washed them, but after washing, I don’t see shedding anymore. They are worth the money to me because we are happier having less dog-sleeping at the head of the bed, and the dogs absolutely seem to enjoy having their own assigned space at the foot of the bed.And previously, I worried about the smaller dog getting too cold, but now I know that if he’s cold, he can get inside the cave. And he does get inside it every cold night so far. So I actually sleep better now, not worrying. The dogs just intermix the two caves and again I would just buy 2 small caves if I had known how large and roomy they are.Appearance: they are just kind of floppy and they don’t stay “open”, but any dog will be able to get inside if they want to. They aren’t going to be “designer approved” for the bedroom haha. But they are functional.Initially we put a treat inside the cave to introduce the dogs to the concept. Then we let them be.The small cave is probably large enough for a 10-15 pound dog.If you have a dog that likes to burrow under blankets (dachshunds and chihuahuas typically), they will like these. Otherwise they will still enjoy laying on top of them. The smaller cave also fits inside our dog cage. Larger cave is too big for the cage we have.I just noticed that the fabric for the cave says it is made from “bamboo charcoal fleece”. I like that it is bamboo based. I guess that’s why it’s so soft.

Cozy little cubby hole – like cats prefer
I got this and put it out immediately. At first my cats ignored it. Then one night I noted Sophie in it. The next night it was Phoebe. But that was it. They continued top ignore it. However – after a couple of months and out of the blue, Sophie was back it it. She’be in there every night and day for weeks now. I’m so glad. I do wish I had gotten a larger one but She doesn’t seem to mind.

The worst purchase I ever made!
Horribly made with the least amount of material. This item should not be sold to anyone

It’s not as sturdy as I had hoped.
It is a bit flimsy. Ok for a tiny dog, but not what I had hoped for.

    rescue dog loves it
he didn’t know what to do or how to get in… after a few times of being put in it he got it he loves his bed now and is resistant to leaving it

    Cozy cat cave
This has worked well for our new kitten that ones a covered safe space. As mentioned in other reviews: comes vacuum packed, more flimsy than stock photos, fabric and overall construction lower quality than anticipated. That said, great for a new kitten that is used to being piled up with mama cat and other kittens; she can climb in and hide with this “cave” crunched down on her. We can also carry her in it/hold as a bundle.

    Nice!
    My dog loves it

    Too floppy
Great idea but animals end up sleeping on top of it vs in it. Wish there was some type of support inside to keep it propped open.
