Allen wrench ineffective and stripped easy, missing steps in directions, metal chips impeded screws unleveled upon completion…

Sturdy and attractive, but complicated assembly
I’ll start by saying I do like these steps; the metal frame and wood platforms are strong and look very nice. The included pads for the surfaces are also nice and I’m sure make use of the steps more comfortable for the pets. A little drawer is also a nice touch.However, I have to knock a star off the rating, because assembly is more complicated than it should be; this is mainly because (at least in my example) not all the metal pieces that should be labeled were actually labeled, and because some of the pieces are very similar without being identical. It was only through sheer luck that I put this together properly the first time, without having to undo a step or two to swap pieces.Still, these are nice stairs at a reasonable price, and I hope they last, just be prepared to pay VERY close attention to the instructions and maybe backtrack a step or two when you realize that oh, those parts weren’t identical after all.
