Perfect!
There was assembly required, but it was easy and I didn’t need any tools. My cat loves the feather and rolling balls. It’s sturdy and the wood smells good too.

Unique but small
This is smaller than you think it’s going to be. I knew ahead of time it was going to be small because the height measurement listed here says 15.7”, however, it’s smaller than that. Mine measured exactly 15” tall. Granted that’s less than an inch difference, but still, both of my cats sit taller than this. With that said, my cats enjoyed this as a toy for a short time, which is pretty typical. You have to move toys around or put them away for a while, and then reintroduce them to keep your cats interested. The wood is sanded smooth to avoid splinters and the wooden balls roll smoothly around the 2 tracks at the bottom. However, the 2 catnip balls get stuck between 2 tracks when they roll because they are not perfectly round. My cats are able to get them moving again though. The most ineffective feature of this is the scratching post itself. This is due to a combination of how lightweight the entire thing is, the narrowness of the center stalk (it’s only 2.25” wide), and the short height. Also, cats like to stretch when they scratch and this isn’t tall enough to allow them to do that. This is fine as a toy and serves that purpose pretty well. But if your intention was to have your cats use this as a scratching post, look elsewhere.

cat loves rubbing his face on it
I think this cat scratcher is great if you live in a small apartment. I have a rather large cat so it is about his height though… for now he seems to only be obsessed with the catnip balls and rubbing his face on it. but any cat owner would know that even having your cat interact with a toy is a plus.at least the wood is sanded down and finished so I don’t have to worry about splinters. It is pretty light though so I feel like if he were to use the rope pole as a normal scratcher it could just topple over.

Good idea but way too small, catnip balls don’t fit enough to roll properly, better values out there
I love the idea of this, my cat loves playing with feathers as well as the tracked ball setups, and this includes a scratching post and dangling toys also. But it is just way too small. If you have a kitten, like eight months and under, this would be perfect. But it is too small for her to perch on or want to bat the dangling ball toys around, the feather spring from the bottom is the best thing for her on here. The real disappointment is the trackball setup, as she tried playing with those but the catnip balls don’t roll properly as they seem too large for the track. They get in the way if you set it up with one catnip ball on each track, as the product page and instructions tell you to do, so that the balls on both tracks will just hit the catnip ball and stop rolling.I’ve since removed the catnip balls but since she already tried this several times and it didn’t do what she expected, she won’t go back to it. She does occasionally still play with the feather. If this was larger it would be worth it as just that with the scratching post and then maybe I could make a perch for her on top, but as it is there are just way better values out there. Not a one-star product because you can still take the catnip balls out, or put them in once your cat licks them down to size, and also because kittens would have a great time with it and there aren’t enough toys that are perfect for small kittens.

Falls over too easily
My foster cats like playing with the rolling balls and the feather toy but the entire thing falls over too easily. Every time I walk by it is on its side. I have hardwood floors and the little suction cup on the bottom doesn’t hold it up right nor does the base sit flush on the ground due to the suction cup.Perhaps it is a better toy for young kittens.

Great material quality and design, but a bit on the small side
Got this because my cat needed a scratching post for the basement. I was pleasantly surprised to find this thing was constructed with real wood! I very much prefer this over plastic or cardboard.Pretty simple to put this together. My cat wouldn’t even let me finish before she had to test it out. 😂 I do think this must come with some very fine quality catnip – lol. Seriously, my cat looked high as a kite by the time construction was completed. So much so, that I removed the catnip balls for now.I unfortunately felt the need to deduct a star for 2 reasons. The first reason is because I wish this were just a tad bit more robust. A thicker and longer scratching pole would be something I would be willing to pay a bit more for (that is also what she said 😂). The 2nd reason is that there is a small spot in the upper circle where my cat was able to work a ball out of the track. I did put it back and it has stayed put since then.Overall, both me and my cat are pretty happy with this.
