Built to Last, Seals Smells, and Has a Handle That Doesn’t Feel Cheap
The PetFusion Portable Litter Trash Can is exactly what I was looking for! It’s incredibly easy to use — removing and replacing the bag when it’s full is simple and mess-free. It holds a ton of litter waste probably about 15-25 lbs of litter waste, and the overall build quality is excellent. It has a sturdy, functional handle that makes it easy to carry, the lid seals tightly to lock in odors, and it has a charcoal filter for extra smell control. It also comes with several bags to get you started, but you can use any standard bag, which makes it really convenient.I previously had the Litter Genie XL, and while it worked okay, it felt cheaply made — especially the handle, which wasn’t very sturdy. This PetFusion bin is a major upgrade in both quality and design, and it even looks good sitting out.

Locks in scent and cheap bags
Keeps scent in, and you can tell when you pop it open to empty more litter in. I live being able to use regular trash bags that are cheap, and it is super easy to get them back out when done.

Very good but small and expensive
This has a great seal on it, which keeps odors from leaking out until you open it. I keep mine in the garage so it’s not a problem for us. It’s much smaller than what I was using before, which was a Training Champ (larger version of a Litter Champ) but that thing held so much that it was extremely heavy to empty and carry out to the trash. This is at least not going to be so heavy, but will need to be emptied more frequently. I am going to try it with the 8 gallon trash bags that some people have recommended. I don’t bother with the handle. It seals well enough on its own and I am not carrying it around the house with me. I use 4 gallon trash bags to go around the house and scoop the various litter boxes— then I carry that bag to the garage and put the 4 gallon bags into this bin. It’s quite expensive for a small trash can with a great seal. I would buy another one, but …. $50.00!

Wonderful little trash can
I love this little trash can. It really does work with keeping the smell contained. I also like the fact you can use whatever trash bag you want. Highly recommend. It even works for putting doggie poop in.

Effective, simple, a life changer
Easy to figure out — I just watched one of the reviewer’s videos here for a few seconds and it was clear. Really keeps odors from escaping. No more daily trips to the outside trash bins — a life changer! The poo does smell when you open the pail (naturally). To mitigate that, whenever I scoop the litterbox, I scoop the poo into a supermarket size plastic bag, put 1/3 cup of cat litter onto it to soak up the smell, tie a knot, and throw it into the pail which is lined with a bag. When it’s time to empty the trash in a few days, I take out the liner bag, tie it up and toss it with the bags of poo in it. Not necessary to do this, because the pail keeps the odors contained. It’s just for whenever you open the pail, if you have a delicate nose like mine. The charcoal filter helps, too. The pail is square and nice looking, doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Works great!
This product works great! Although the litter box of our two kitties is right next to the garage this product makes life so much easier. Nowadays there are no free supermarket plastic bags anymore that we could use and this works so much better anyway! It allows us to do a quick scoop if one of the kitties left us with a particularly odorous present. The lid closes perfectly so the scent is gone! We have one of those front access litter boxes and I tip the unit over the edge of the litter box by putting my toes under the unit while holding the lid with one hand and scoop with the other. NO LITTER SPILLS! The only thing – this product deserves a proper name! Highly recommend!

It works, but with drawbacks
Overall, this bin gets the job done, and better than the LitterGenie system (or whatever it’s called) with the fancy never-ending river of plastic bags that I never could figure out how to work properly. I like that you can use any bag/liner you’d like with this bin, and that when you lift the handle after closing the lid, the odor is completely contained. We have this and out litter set-up in a guest bathroom, so odor control is what I was looking for the most. I generally empty and re-bag this once every 1-2 weeks, but that is also because I use PrettyLitter so only poop is being scooped into this. The worst part is by far every time you need to open the container to deposit more into it, or as I discovered, when it’s time to empty and replace the bag. Lifting the lid now entails a pre-ceremony of inhaling as deeply as I can outside of the room, running in and scooping poop into this thing like I’m trying to beat my PR just so I can slam it closed and return the handle to the locked position immediately, lest the odor bats from hell continue to unleash themselves upon my face. Other than that, it’s great.

This is the best litter pail, hands down. We have had 3 different styles of litter locker before this bucket style – and issues with each of those, like: have to use their expensive refills, can use regular garbage bags but it looks a mess, actual usable litter storage space is small, emptying the locker is a pain, difficult to clean, etc etc. But, those litter lockers were better than filling up little bags each time we scooped the boxes so we used those systems for years. But no more! This bucket is amazing. It comes with several biodegradable bags but you can clip any bag inside to hold the used litter. Changing to a fresh bag is simple, just unclip, lift the old bag out and clip a new bag in. It takes seconds. Its a bucket so its easy to clean, just wipe it out. The lid locks in place and keeps odours inside. It has a handle and is easy to carry if you want to move it. Solid construction and feels like it will last a long time. The only thing that is not as good as the more intricate litter lockers is that there is no barrier to contain the smell when you open the lid. Its an open bucket, so you get the full effect of whatever is in there. But its so good in every other way we just overlook this part.As other reviewers have said, watch the price. It seems to fluctuate between $50 – $110. It just hit $50 again and I bought a 2nd one. $50 for a bucket may seem too high but its really not. All the frustration of using our old litter lockers gone – its very much worth it.Advice from a 3 cat household: stick this litter bucket on your Wish List, watch it, and buy at $50. You won’t regret it.

L’acquisto merita.

I originally purchased this when it was very pricey in Australia, and what originally drew me to it was the look, size and fact that you can use any bags with it. At the current price of $65~ AUD I would say it’s definitely worth the cost.Really happy with the unit which we store in our bathroom behind our waste bin. There’s been no detectable smell so far.My partner likes how easy it is to carry around the house to the litter trays. We have three cats who are very fussy about dirty litter, and it usually lasts a few days before needing to be emptied – we use breeders choice litter which is non-clumping. I think if you were using clumping litter with less cats you’d have to empty it much less frequently.

Firstly, yes when you do open the lid there is a smell, ( it does go away once you close the lid ) but with 3 indoor cats, that’s to be expected, I imagine it will get worse as the bin fills, as it holds a lot of poo. There is a charcoal filter at the top which if you regularly change will help this.On my normal kitchen bin ( which I previously used to scoop the litter in every day I used the Katfresh filters,( They are approx £1.99 at B&M) If you cant get a charcoal filter perhaps you could use one of those instead. ( They need replacing every 30 days )Because I had 3 cats I went for this option and I like the fact you can just put a bin bag in and change the filter and not have to mess about with the special cartridges, like the other litter bins. I have put an ONA block inside the bin, so when I open it the smell isn’t too bad. They last a long time. I have found over the years having these next to litter trays really helps. I have placed one in the bottom of the bin, and it is helping. You don’t need one, but if the smell when you open the lid to scoop litter in is too much, and you have a new filter, you could give it a try. I guess if you have a few cats and there is a lot to scoop having the lid open longer makes it seem worse. But just change the bag more often. There is no way I will wait until the bag is full, as it’s such a large container. All in all I am happy with the bin.
