Amazing Feeder with a Minor Tech Consideration
My cat and I both love this feeder—it’s a fantastic addition to our routine! The camera lets me check that she’s eating, motion alerts notify me when she’s in front of it, and the recording feature is a great bonus. It’s given me so much peace of mind, especially when I’m away on trips. For tech-savvy users, there’s one thing to note: the camera feed is routed through servers in China. If you have region restrictions or a tightly controlled firewall (like I do), you’ll need to add the appropriate URLs to your allowlist. PetLibro’s customer service was helpful in providing the URLs, but they couldn’t fully explain why the camera is routed this way. While it’s a bit concerning, I’m comfortable with the risk management I have in place.Other than that, I’ve had no issues with this feeder. Customer service is responsive, the product feels well-designed, and the app features are consistently improving. Highly recommend it for any cat owner who wants both convenience and peace of mind!

Works and looks great, easy to use but skip if the voice recording feature is important to you
TL;DR: Works and looks great with the exception of the recorded message feature.I bought this autofeeder for my cat out of desperation. She meows incessantly for 45 minutes or more before meal times which annoys my dog into shriek howling with every meow and causes me to contemplate double murder. I’ve only had this feeder for a couple days but so far it is working great! My cat is still learning that she must appeal to her new machine overlord for food, but she is already much better than she was. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I will update my review if anything changes.PROS:- Easy set-up. It takes a few minutes but unless you’re changing the schedule all the time for some reason, it’s really not terrible. Some reviews claim you have to cycle through every time and portion to change something but that’s not true. You can use the “+” and “-” buttons to navigate to the meal slot you want to change without starting from the beginning. Unused slots will have a time but if you set the portion to zero they will not dispense anything. This is probably obvious but it did confuse me for a second. I set mine to have 4 meals spaced 6 hours apart and it’s been working like a charm.- No jamming problems even with larger kibble so far. The cat food I buy has larger chunks interspersed in with smaller kibble and I was worried that it might jam up the dispenser. So far it has been working just fine. It has a helpful sticker on the lid that shows you the largest kibble size it will accommodate and it seems to be accurate. I bought the 5L version which holds 4-5 lbs of food.- My devious cat has yet to figure out how to get extra kibble from it. The panel auto-locks so she can’t press any buttons. I’ve seen her stick her paw up the chute to dig around but she hasn’t succeeded in any extra snacks yet as far as I can tell. It’s only been a few days so time will tell if she will use her demon powers to beat the machine. I would suggest either putting this feeder on the floor or securing it in place because I suspect that my cat would be able to push it off a table and/or knock it over of it was empty enough. The weight D batteries alone might make it relatively stable to tipping though. I have not actually seen her move it yet but I remain wary because she is a larger cat at 14 lbs and generally a menace to society*.- It seems well-made and is very sleek and modern looking. Appearance is less important than function to me but it does look quite nice.- I like that there is a battery meter display even when plugged in. I intend to have it plugged in all the time but it will be nice to know when the back-up batteries need to be replaced.- After completing set-up, I decided to move the feeder and had not installed batteries in it yet. I was expecting to reset at least the time but was pleasantly surprised to see it did not reset at all. It was unplugged for all of 10 seconds so I can’t attest to how long it can go without power or batteries before resetting the time. – A customer service rep from PETLIBRO messaged me before my product arrived with some helpful tips and reminder that they have customer service available 24 hours on week days if I need it and a 12 month warranty. I have not had a need to contact customer service but I thought the pro-active message was nice.CONS:- It is not clear from anywhere in the instructions what constitutes a portion. From my measurements, it seems that one portion is equivalent to approximately 1/8 cup. I am happy with this portion size but I wish it had been clear without requiring experimentation on my part.- In my opinion, the only truly poor feature about this product is the recorded message option (whether you intend to use it or not). Other reviews mention that the recording quality is very poor and I have to agree. It is very staticy and mine also makes a rhythmic rasping noise even when recording silence. I had no intention of using this feature anyway as the sound of a pin drop would probably send her scrambling from across the house if it meant food. The problem is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to delete or turn off the recording without resetting the whole machine. I hit the record button by mistake during set-up, which is very easy to do, and I didn’t want to start over. I “bypassed” it by hitting the record button quick succession to create as short of a recording as I possibly could. The quick blip of static when it dispenses food doesn’t bother me but it is annoying you can’t just turn this feature off all together. This is by no means a deal breaker to me but if having a nice recorded message is important to you, I would not recommend this feeder.- Not exactly a con but I prefer a shallow dish for feeding my cat. The bowl that comes with the feeder is deep but it is a nice bowl and I like that it has a tray that attaches to the feeder to keep it from being kicked around. Luckily her old shallow bowl fits nicely within the provided bowl and I haven’t noticed any issues with spilling while doing this. Not a big deal but something to consider if it matters to you.*I promise that I actually love my cat very much! 😂 Picture attached. She’s the best cat in the world… when she’s not hungry.

So far, so good
**addition to this review. I recently had an issue with an error saying the feeder was blocked but it wasnt. After taling it apart and seeing there was nothing blocking it i reached out to their customer support through their website. About 12 hours later i recieved an email with detailed instructions on an update they added to my app and instructions to update app, remove batteries, unplug the unit, then add batteries back and plug it in again. It worked!! After a little over a week of trying to figure it out myself and being convinced it had crapped out after almost a year it’s back on track. They were quick to respond and they so far have the issue fixed and I have every confidence they will help out quickly again should the need arise. Full confidence in their customer support and their product. This thing has worked well for almost a year until this hiccup and now we’re back on track. So far I have only had it set up for about 30 minutes. Yesterday when it arrived I pulled it from the box and started set up when I realized I needed C batteries and a micro SD card, something I overlooked when I ordered it. No big deal, I went back on Amazon and ordered both those things and got them this morning.Meanwhile, I taught myself how it worked, got it hooked up to wifi, & washed the top portion where food is stored and the bowl. Let it dry overnight. Then when I got up this morning set it up without issue. Not sure why people say it’s so hard to set up. But I’m also used to hooking up security cameras, fire sticks, and water leak detection units to my wifi, so maybe I just understand the steps better since I’ve done it quite a lot.Either way, it’s pretty easy, just have some patience with the steps. My only issue really came with the fact that it locks itself like after one minute so when I was trying to get my password in it locked itself, but it’s super easy to unlock anyways. I’m not sure if it would have made any difference if it was locked during this process, but the instructions said to unlock it so I made sure it was unlocked during this whole process.I tested it this morning and because I had the other version of this feeder that doesn’t have the camera or use the wifi, my kitty Butters, came in to eat a snack as soon as he heard it hit the metal bowl. Added bonus is that it uses a metal bowl instead of plastic. Metal is much better for our fur babies to eat and drink out of.This one will be nice because it holds more than my old one, I can feed him snacks from work, and I can make sure and keep up with his eating habits. I also have it scheduled for his regular feedings twice daily, automatically, which was also easy to set up on the app.The app downloaded without issue. Set up was a piece if cake. All in all, so far, so good. If anything changes I’ll update the review.

A very good design. Follow instructions. It works well. Adjust directional clip as per instructions slightly to right without forcing it further than it’s maximum. Slightly to right for equal amounts because lnner turnstile turns in the same direction so food is moved proportionately. New bowls aren’t as deep as the old style to help prevent whisker fatigue. Cats took to it immediately and chose their favorite sides on their own. Seems they enjoy the communal feeding atmosphere while enjoying their own side. Expensive, so wait until it goes on sale.. Sale price $44 CDN. This was not possible while one cat had a different kitten diet. Make sure to complement equally with wet foods served every day along with a water fountain. Thank you to Petlibro and designers for making this possible. Petlibro backs their products if you have patience and let them proceed with their testing requests. Out of 4 Petlibro automatic camera feeders, one had wifi connection stability issues. They replaced it at no further charge after I followed their requested procedure. Now, after being very upset and frustrated, they have a loyal positive customer. Excellent service and communications. 5 stars.

I have been using this for about a week now and I feel confident in saying it’s a great product. I have two kitties and it’s been great, they love it! It was so easy for them to get used to. They are excited when they hear the noise of the feeder dispensing their food in the morning.I tried to include as much info as I could in the video since there isn’t many reviews on Amazon about this feeder. I’ll explain it here as well, the best I can. This feeder NEEDS a MicroSD card for the camera to record. I got mine from Walmart for $30CAD. You can plug this into the wall for power or there is the option for 3 large size D batteries, for my situation I thought plugged into the wall is better.I included a few pictures of what their pet libro app looks like. There is TWO pet libro apps, so make sure you download the right one for this model. It’s decently easy to set up, the manual helps, there is youtube videos online, and the app works great and pretty straight forward. If you are not good with technology then I recommend getting someone who is to help you just in case. You can schedule your pets feedings so you don’t have to manually do it. But if you check your camera from school or work and see their food is low, you can click Manual Feed and it will dispense a certain amount of portions that you pick. When I was first learning I did 4 portions, 2 per cat… well it turns out 1 portion is plenty per kitty in the morning and I feed them wet food for dinner. (But to each their own!) Just don’t hit like 10 portions and have the food flying out of the bowl haha. I haven’t had any issues at all with any part of the feeder or app, it’s all been working amazing and very easy this past week. Both my kitties can eat from the one bowl together as shown in the video, but they also just take turns. No issues there. Pet Libro has this same feeder with 2 bowls so if you have 2+ cats I would recommend getting that version of this feeder. If you have 1 or 2 cats this version is great, and it’s cheaper! Even if you have 3 cats you could make this work, just depends on your kitties personalities and how well they can share or if they are patient. As said in my video, you can set up the app to notify you for motion detection. It’s really quite awesome. Pet Libro did a fantastic job. I also bought one of their water fountains and it just looks amazing and works great. I’m so happy with this purchase, it’s an investment but definitely worth it. I highly recommend this automatic pet feeder and so far Pet Libro as a brand has been really really great. Great quality.

Die not work as intended. Would kam up more often than not. Went back to a single bowl instead.
