So far, so good!
I have a full size Australian Shepherd and he needs grooming a couple of days every week. The tines of these combs seem to be well attached and hold up well. I had another set of metal grooming combs, but his thick hair caused the tines to break off after just a short use. I was looking for something sturdier, and so far these are working well.I also like the plastic grips on the back of the combs. They go a long way in helping the groomer to hold onto the comb as it is pulled through the fur.

Finally the groomer of my doodle told me his secret. “Get a comb.” I tried various brushes that were either too soft or too hard. The broad teeth on this comb are just right and get through my dog’s fur and fur on tail and ears without causing pain.

I have been using a small version of this type of comb on my Maltese for years. These are so much better. The gripping handle make it easy to hold when you are working through some tangle spots and the metal construction is sturdy and holds up to his thick Maltese fur. Great price for the set of two. I paid more for a small hand-held version of this at the pet shop- no gripping surface and hard to hold when you are brushing.
