Low tracking, odor control and easy clean up
I have tried clay litter, walnut litter, corn litter and pellets. All have pros and cons. Pidan is now my go to litter although it is expensive. The tofu litter has odor control (I clean up my cats box everyday), clumps urine but does not clump poop but the smell is bearable than above litter I’ve tried. Clean up is easy, no dust, not messy and I can easily wipe my cats’ stainless still box (if I’m in a hurry or just lazy to wash it in our tub-apt dweller) because it’s easy to clean with very minimal to no residue. I do recommend to have a litter scooper with bigger holes (like the Modkat one that comes with their litter box) to sift through this litter. Of all the litters I’ve tried this is low tracking and merciful on our carpeted floors (I also have a cat litter mat). I have 2 cats that share one box (tried 2 but they only use one), I order 2 bags and last me a month. The only thing I kind of complain is the price but it is a really quality product.

Switch to Tofu!! It’s worth it!
I have tried clay litter, extra clumping litter, easy “non stick” litter. Litter that claims it’s dust free. I’ve tried organic corn litter because it claimed it was dust free and hey it’s organic so it would be better for the cats right? Dusty!!! And sooooo much tracking. Dusty little paw prints up and down the hallway. Went briefly back to clay looking for something else. Came across pine pellets. Not going to lie they work after you figure out how to “sift”. You cannot beat the cost. Cheapest cat litter. I have cats that will play with anything and the pellets become toys to fling out of the box. Ever step on a pine pellet with bare feet? No fun. But I stuck with the pine pellets because they work and they were great for the budget. Minimal dust. No ammonia smell whatsoever. Just a pine, woodsy scent mixed with the scent of cat poo. Oh yeah! Good times! My cats have gotten older and their paws apparently grew sensitive. So instead of stepping onto the hard pellets in their boxes to do their business, they found alternate ways of doing their business. Some would perch on the edge of the box therefore tipping the box and its lovely contents onto the floor. Others just said I don’t think so and went outside the box. Right outside the box. Basically letting me know, Hey! Hooman! This litter sucks!!Enter Pidan Tofu litter!! My cats love this stuff! I didn’t even have to transition them over! I dumped one box of pellets and replaced it with the Pidan just to see which they would use. They chose the Pidan tofu litter. This litter is easy to clean. Clumps very well. I clean the litter boxes twice a day. Once before work and once after I get back home. Takes me less than 5 minutes to get every box. I have one bag in every box. I haven’t had to add any litter just take out what’s been used with scooping. One bag lasts about two weeks with multiple cats. I have four cats using three boxes because they’ve grown up together and have no qualms about using the same toilet if it is cleaned. And it actuality they are only using two of the boxes now. I have a litter box of tofu litter that’s been used twice. So it’s there as backup if needed. I can’t really say enough about this litter. It’s just that awesome! Virtually no tracking. Just some small itsy bitsy random pellet. If you’ve been on the litter journey and have grown tired of all the b.s. and are looking for something different, something wonderful (especially after non clumping pine pellets), then get off the dusty tracking litter trail and try the Pidan Tofu Litter. It might not be for you but it’s worth it to at least give it a shot.

4 cat mom ~ Amazing litter, worth the cost
I thought my daughter was crazy for recommending this to me but I’m in love with it despite the higher cost. What I love about it:~ It clumps instantly ~ the clumps don’t fall apart ~ it’s easy to scoop ~ it’s low tracking ~ it somehow eliminates the smell of the feces and urine at all, probably because it clumps so well it’s all removed every time you scoop ~ best of all, you can flush it!!Important note about flushing this litter ~ Sometimes I have to let the clumps sit in the water for a bit, (if there’s a lot or if they are large), but they DO dissolve completely and flush right down. One time I tried to flush too many clumps at once and it stopped up the toilet BUT NOT TO WORRY!! I just let it sit for about 5 or 10 min, and it flushed right down. No plunging needed. The clumps just needed time to absorb the water and dissolve. The litter WILL completely dissolve in water, sometimes you just need to give it a few minutes. Like I said, I have 4 cats, so I have a LOT of clumps to scoop out sometimes. How often I have to purchase the litter? With 4 cats, and because it does clumps all of the urine completely, I have to add a new bag at least monthly or sometimes a little sooner. Side note: I try to always keep my litter at least 2 to 3 inches deep and I have a very large litter box. About the smell… it’s interesting, some people say like vanilla, maybe? It’s not bad. I don’t think it’s a bad smell at all, but definitely an interesting different smell.

They are right, it is definitely one of the best tofu litters out there. However they are expensive and you need 2 boxes to fill enough the litter box and refill it weekly with another box. So be ready to buy at least 4-5 boxes in a month which costs a lot.

*If you live in Canada you know how expensive this product is – especially the import fees. Can get this for much cheaper with free shipping on teddybob(dot)caContext: 2 cats, 2 large stainless steel litter boxes – Need approx 2.5 bags each to fill boxes to an ideal amount. I usually purchase every 3-4 weeks (4-pack).Pros:-Very good for cats and owners with respiratory issues, virtually no dust at all + is natural-Actually good for tracking compared to clay/silica which was a big deal breaker for me as I started to use this litter when I was in a small apartment-Odour control is good- you have to clean daily which I do anyways (I find Pidan brand tofu litter is the best for this versus other tofu cat litters I have purchased as the others tend to have a barnyard smell to them after a week or two of use)-Good for my one cat with sensitive paw pads who didn’t take well to other pellet forms such as wood pellets-Urine clumps well if you have enough litter in the box otherwise it can get dough-y which is why price is a big downsideCons:-The price is crazy –I find I have to top up the litter every week and a half/two weeks in my large litter boxes because my cats like to have at least 2.5 inches-3 inches to dig/bury their business.-You might not like the mild vanilla smell it has

  6. Amazon Customer

Overall the litter works well, clumps really well, easy to scoop (I don’t flush it so can’t comment on that), still some tracking but less than with clay, and no dust (which is as my primary concern)The reason for the low star count is the smell. It has a vanilla type smell and it is just too strong. I will use what I have because this is an expensive litter, but I will not be ordering again due to the smell.
