Fantastic alternative to a crate when travelling
My dogs are accustomed to going to bed in their crates every night so when we do travel we have to take their crates with us which can be a real pain due to the space they take up in the car. I saw this portable cat playpen and decided to order this. This playpen will be ideal for when we travel as it takes up hardly any space, also it is big enough for my dogs to sleep comfortably inside. This arrived in its own product packaging. Inside the box: 1 x small tent, 1 x large tent, 8 x small folding poles, 8 x large folding poles, 1 x storage bag, 8 x tent pegs/poles, 1 x pole storage bag, 1 x washable pad and instructions. This is quite easy to set up although the sleeves for the poles on the tents can be a little tight when threading them through. There are openings at the top on both tents which have a zipper. There is a large zippered entrance on the larger tent and a circular zipped opening on the smaller tent which is where you can attach both tents together using the zipper to the larger tent as shown in the listing. The large tent has a pocket on the side and both tents have two carry handles on the top. This is mainly to be used outside which is why there are tent pegs/poles included. I love that this comes with a washable pad that fits the larger playpen. When packing this playpen away it is worth noting that due to the tight fit of the poles you need to push the bottom of the pole towards the opening rather than pulling them out. If you pull the pole from the top you will end up having one half of the pole stuck which then risks the elastic that holds both ends together breaking. I did struggle with folding these back in the bag and had to refer to the instructions on how to do this.I checked everything on these tents and found that the stitching is okay with no loose threads. As much as I really do like this set up I will say I think it is on the pricey side. This is not a top quality item even though it does serve its purpose. As an example the zippers are not the best and I am not sure how long they will last, the fabric is okay although it is not really tough enough in my opinion. I would expect a reasonable price point for this playpen would have been around the $40 mark. Due to the price I have removed 1 star giving this item a 4 star rating.

Well made and thought out playpen areas for your cat. Definitely a keeper.
When I ordered this play set for our new cat. I wasn’t sure if it was going to fit the bill or not. I am more than happy with what it turned out to be. Oh, and the cat is happy too.We had a cat that was living on our deck outside. Our local vet has a clinic every year to spay and neuter feral cats. We captured here and had her spayed. When we brought her home we kept her inside to heal up for a while. We placed her in an old kennel we had for our Great dane. Now she just sort of made it her home. She shows no incling to go outside. She is getting friendlier all the time. but the Dog kennel is not ideal for this. This is why i ordered this playpen set. One thing to note. as far as the footprint goes. It is not much smaller than the XXL kennel we were using. But it looks so much nicer. Pepper seems to like it as well. The unit is spring loaded for the rounded surfaces and uses 2 piece fiberglass poles up all the sides. These slide into a velcroed black webbing going up the side. Poles are completely hidden when setup. One thing I should note. this is not a quick setup playpen set. it takes about 150 minutes or so to setup putting all the rods into the slots. I haven’t tore it down yet, but I am guessing those rods are not coming out easily either. But it is light weight break down into two pieces that can be used independently or zipped together with a mesh tunnel. While I was assembling this playpen I pulled a little too hard when folding over the Velcro tab and tore some of the stitching. Nothing terrible, it still works fine, but be aware of this. I am also not too big a fan of the Green flower power design on it. but it still looks better than the kennel in our spare room.Overall I think this is a very nicely made and thought out playpen set. Lots of Doors. lots of mesh for breathability and visibility. Velcro tabs to roll the mesh doors up when you want it open. A nice, though thin quilted pad in the large unit for the cats to lay on. I believe it will be a nice unit for us to use in the house and when we travel in our camper.

Very cheap materials & broke immediately
This is cute. But i have some major complaints about the construction of it, its very cheap materials and 99% of it broke the very first time i assembled it, before I even got to use it.First off, I do want to say that it does collapse down into a very cute, very small bag. I thought this would be perfect for when I take one of my animals camping with me and want them to have their own space. As soon as I got it, I put it together. That wasn’t bad at all – it does have quite a few steps, but everything went pretty smoothly, although right out of the box, a few seams were already ripped where you put the support poles. The rest of them were sewn so tightly to the playpen that the poles would barely fit. So, either they were ripped, or way too tight, but there were none that were just…. fine. I did put all the support poles in, and had it fully constructed. It was cute.Taking it back down, almost every support pole got stuck in the playpen because when you pull them out, the strings that keep the poles together ripped. I was not using excessive force, I was actually being super gentle because I already knew this wasn’t very high quality. Just gently pulling them out, the strings ripped, leaving the bottom half of the pole in the playpen. Getting that bottom half out was a huge pain. I tried to fix the poles that ripped (almost all of them), but theres no way to do it easily. That meant this couldn’t be assembled ever again. It would be better if instead of the string, it had a snap button that could press and lock, so the strings dont just pull out. Either way, its unfortunately unusable almost out of the box.
