No. DOORWING works on most door frames but may not work properly on ultra round or sharply angled door frame trims.
WHAT IS DOORWING’S ADJUSTABILITY RANGE?
DOORWING fits doors 1.2 to 1.8 inches thick and door frames up to 8.5 inches thick.
WHAT IS THE SMALLEST DOOR GAP OPENING?
1.5 inches, just enough to help avoid hand and tail pinches, but too narrow for cats, dogs, babies and toddlers to fit through.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DOOR GAP OPENING?
5 inches on standard door frames, which is wide enough for most cats to comfortably fit through. Standard door frames in North America are 5.5 inches thick. NOTE: The door gap opening will depend on the door frame size.
CAN THE DOOR FULLY CLOSE WITH DOORWING ATTACHED TO IT?
Full door closure is possible only when DOORWING is in storage position (folded away when not in use) and only where there is a minimum 3-4 mm clearance space between the door’s edge and the door frame. DOORWING’s metal bracket is 2 mm thick and must easily fit between the door’s edge and the door frame for full door closure. If there is not at least 3-4 mm of space, please do not attempt to fully close the door with the unit attached as this may cause damage to your door frame.

Works as expected
Before purchasing this make sure there is a gap between the door and the frame on the doorknob edge. I bought this to keep my toddler out of the bathroom while also leaving room for my cats to continue to use the bathroom. I use pine pellet litter, and the bathroom has two boxes for the cats to use, my toddler follows me to the bathroom and when he isn’t occupied by me, he will start to grab the fresh pellets and throw them around making a giant mess. At first install I thought that this product was perfect, I later discovered that my placement wouldn’t work because there wasn’t any gap for me to close the door and keep the lock on, luckily this wasn’t the end of the world, a little lower than preferred I had a gap just large enough to tightly fit the lock while also being able to fully close the door. This lock, when in use, does keep my toddler out of the bathroom while still letting my 9 and 13.5lbs cats in and out, I have the lock on the farthest out setting and it is still too small for my toddler, who is in the 12th percentile at 1.5 years old, to get in the bathroom. I would highly recommend this lock for keeping littles or dogs out of rooms that either can’t have the door shut all the way or that just need something small like a cat able to get in or out.

Secure and Functional Door Lock
We needed to ensure the toddler didn’t sneak out of their room at the beach rental. The door lock worked “PERFECTLY”It allowed the door to have a small opening, which satisfied the toddler’s desire not to be “locked” in a room. We will be purchasing additional area locks from this company. It was easy to use, ensured child safety and was affordable.

Stops short of being functional
I loved the idea of this product and was so excited to get it. I thought I could leave a room for my cat to escape to and keep my toddler out. However, I wish they made the arm that latches to the door frame longer, so it could grasp past the door frame and actually close the door (see photo). Our toddler is tall enough to undo the one we have on the door handle, and I imagine it’s only a matter of time until she figures out that a good amount of pushing will undo this one.

Finally able to get the kids to stay in their room at bedtime!
I had been looking for something to help with the bedtime routine because my kid is CRAZY at night. Something similar to this was recommended to me by our pediatrician and this was able to be delivered sooner, so we went with it! It is perfect because you can keep the kid from leaving their room, while you sit nearby, and reassure them that you will come back in the room when they’ve gotten back in bed.It has a safety mechanism to keep them from slamming their fingers in the door. It’s also easy for an adult to open when also inside the room. And when it’s not in use, it folds away.Obviously, do not leave this on their door when you go to bed because they will NOT be able to get out in case of emergency!

Edit : 16 feb. 25 – the vendor reached. Out to me in December to get a better understanding of the broken part. It was actually a part that they were redesigning. He proposed to send me the new version. I received it and installed. It looks more sturdy and now I can fully close the door. Let’s hope it lasts longer. Until then, customer service was excellent !!Original review : Completely met my needs for 2 months by keeping the cat (a small one) out of the bedroom while the door was open… Until it broke today. I put 3 stars because 2 months is not a long time. However it was still a nice designed product. As somebody else said, would have been better if the door could close completely with it.

Edit: the company reached out to me and offered a full replacement at no cost to myself, the customer service is above and beyond. I will recommend to anyone and everyone.It met my needs quite well until it broke. Now it’s a hassle, unfortunately the part that keeps it out of the way doesn’t work anymore and it’s past the return date, had it less than a year when it malfunctioned.
