Not for thick chested short bodied bully breeds
I have a 40+ pound Boston Terrier mix rescue that’s VERY difficult to buy sweaters/coats for. He’s a big boy with wide barrel chest and short body. Buy something that fits him in the chest and it’s going to be way too long. Buying for his body length is out of the question for obvious reasons. Outerwear in winter (Midwest) is essential though because BTs have no undercoat and normally very little fat.I’ve measured and remeasured him and his chest is 27″. This is the 4th coat I’ve purchased for him (the previous didn’t come close to fitting) and with the season winding down selection is slim so I ordered this one. I got the XL which lists chest measurement at 29.1″ (I’m assuming max) and it JUST fits him. The length of course is about 5-6″ too long but at least he can wear it.I’d like to see a bit more padding but it’ll do. He couldn’t possibly wear a sweater underneath though or it would never close.Please be aware that at least in my case the chest runs about 2″ short. It does seem pretty well made though.

Not for off road
Warm and fit amazing not durable for off road maybe if it’s a city dog but not a county pup our gsp loves it but the belt came off right at the seam so we had to return it are our duo run the woods so we bought carhardt duck coats that should last !!
