From the brand
My co-inventor for SCAREDY CUT was my cat Atticus. A Maine Coon fluff ball, he had a heart condition and was afraid of anything motorized. SCAREDY CUT is built around having a cooperative, trusting relationship with a pet. I always treated it like a snuggling session & he liked it more and more over time.
We have received countless positive reviews from customers who have seen a dramatic improvement in their pets’ mood after using our invention.

Excellent product; fantastic company.
I have never written a product review but my experience with this product is worth telling – and hopefully helpful to those that view it…I ordered the Scaredy Cut clipper set in December 2011, received the item in just a few days, and set out to use the largest comb (#6) with clippers on Jake, my 8 month old 60 lb labradoodle. While trying to change the combs out (it came with the smallest comb installed), the comb plate broke off the scissors and the plastic clip broke on the comb – wow I thought – complete junk!…After reading the few ‘not so good’ reviews here at Amazon I noticed that Matthew Michel of the Scaredy Cut company had replied to all with genuine concern and offers of assistance. I contacted the company by email immediately and received a response from Matthew within 3 hours. Here’s what I was told – the plate is attached to the scissors with two spot welds that are extremely strong when in the correct place. Occasionally the spot welds are misplaced and the contact is weakened – which happened in my case. In addition the combs can be stiff at first use but once broken-in should work fine. Matthew suggested running them under warm water and pre-flexing so the combs are more pliable when attaching to the plate. Finally he offered to ship out a replacement set immediately with combs that he would pre-flex personally.I received the replacement kit in a few days with all combs pre-flexed and ready to go. Placed the #6 comb on the clippers and set to work. It took me about 2 hours total to do the whole pup – worked in 20 minute intervals with breaks between – I’m guessing a bit over an hour of actual cutting – enough to get a pretty good blister. Then did some trimming around the neck and face with smaller combs. I cut an incredible amount of hair – even clogged the vacuum cleaner! This was his first cut so I expect that maintaining it will be a bit easier and not so time consuming.Considering I have no previous experience with pet grooming, Scaredy Cut worked EXTREMELY well. Nothing describes the results better than a picture so I posted `before’ and `after’ shots with the product image at the top of the page. I didn’t have the greatest `before’ image, but I think you can tell Jake had an abundance of fur.The product worked perfect for me. Jake is much happier (and cooler!) without all the hair, and looks better too! The response and genuine concern from the company is exceptional. I highly recommend it for anyone who can’t – or doesn’t want to – use electric clippers, or shell out the money for professional grooming.

THE BEST customer service!
My Miniature Schnauzer is like a rabid raccoon when we try to get anywhere near him with electric grooming clippers. When I found the listing for the Scaredy Cut shears, I thought they might be the answer. I was so excited when the package arrived, especially after reading such great reviews. The concept is great! It comes with so many different size attachments and a case to keep it all in and it’s super easy to use. I did have a problem though. The scissors weren’t lined up correctly perhaps and they weren’t cutting the fur. So, I contacted the company to find out what to do and they IMMEDIATELY (and on the weekend no less) responded to my email, verified my address, and sent me shipment tracking info for a new one without any hassle! And it arrived in like 2 days! The new pair works GREAT and my pup doesn’t mind me using it on him! Thank you so much for the best customer service I’ve ever experienced with a business through Amazon!

A great product, just not quite perfect.
I like this product. It’s well designed and frees me from the fear that I’m accidentally going to cut my dog with the scissors when grooming her. They arrived sharp and the combs fit on the scissors snugly. There are two areas where this product could use some improvement, however. First, the finger holes are small. I suppose that the handles are optimized for ladies with relatively small hands, but for my ham fists, it was hard to fit my fingers into the handles. I managed to do it, but I had to remove the inner linings (you can see these comfort linings in black on the photo) of the scissor grips. Surprisingly, without the comfort linings, the handles do wear on your fingers. I think I’ll sand those grips a bit with my Dremel tool. Second, it would be nice if the combs could be fit to either side of the shears. Granted, this is a review after I tried the grooming just once, so I’m far from an expert on the matter. Still, whenever I try to give Godiva (my Boykin Spaniel) a haircut, she suddenly thinks it’s a dance practice. It can be difficult to get the right angle to cut against the grain of her fur in certain areas without using the unguarded side of the shears. So I found myself using this product left-handed at times. In summary, these worked far better than any clippers that I’ve ever tried. I do definitely recommend the product. But I think that it would benefit from an XL version for those with big hands and it would be nice if the opposite blade could fit the combs as well. A great product, just not perfect in my opinion.

Not the best, but customer services makes up for it
I was excited to find these after several attempts of using a razor on my recently rescued cocker spaniel. He definitely has some sensory issues, so I figured these would be PERFECT!Well, they did work….but it takes a lot of time! My first time using these was after my dog had dental surgery and was still coming off the anesthesia (so he was veryyyyy chill). I can’t imagine how long it would take on an active dog wiggling around the whole time. They provided a nice even cut.My biggest complaint is that these are so uncomfortable to use. After using them for 45 min, I had a large sore on my index finger. Also the scissors are not very sharp, which may be one of the reasons it takes so long.I love the idea of this, but the design could be improved. I will probably end up returning these and keep searching for something similar but better.—UPDATED—-After writing my review, I was surprised when I got a new pair of scissors in the mail from this company. Talk about great customer service. I will try the new blades and see if they cut better. I will probably end up keeping these because I want to support a company like this that backs their products and tries to make things better.

Because I am right handed I have to constantly turn my dog around or upside down to get his fur in the right direction to cut. Luckily he’s okay with me (man)handling him! I put a towel down on my kitchen bench for the correct height and went to work. I love how easy peasy this is. My groomers would never quite get his length quite right.

Je ne sais pas l’utiliser et de plus je l’ai acheté pour mon chat et il ne se laisse pas faire

Finally, a tool that my dog isn’t scared of!! I tried the scissors yesterday and they work like a charm. It took me about 45 minutes to give her the standard Schnauzer cut and she stood patiently while I was clipping away. She is absolutely petrified of getting groomed due to a bad experience with an inexperienced groomer. Until I can desensitize her to electric clippers, it’s fantastic to be able to give her a clip a home, especially for the hot summer months.

Disappointed it came with a broken piece. I had reached out but no one bothered to get back to me. Wouldn’t order again
