For more than a decade, SENTRY has worked side by side with leading pet experts and top universities researching effective ways to help pets lead happier, less stressful lives and to strengthen their bonds with their owners. SENTRY Calming Collar for Cats quickly releases a pheromone through an easy-to-slip-on collar that helps alleviate problem behaviors triggered by travel, thunderstorms, visitors in the home, and even introducing a new cat into the family. SENTRY Calming Collar for Cats has a slip-away buckle that loosens when pressure is applied unexpectedly. IMPORTANT: If your cat has never worn a collar before, please follow these instructions: 1. Apply the collar loosely around their neck and supervise them for 10 minutes. 2. If your cat tolerates the collar, tighten it enough so that you can fit two fingers in between the collar and their neck. 3. Supervise them for 30 minutes. 4. If your cat continues to tolerate the collar, you can leave it on your cat unsupervised.

Non-Recognition Aggression
We have 2 cats, sisters, who we will refer to as murder cat and derpy cat. Derpy cat escaped and rolled around in the dirt and something else foul. She is captured and brought back inside where murder cat gets within 8 feet of her and goes ballistic. Like, alternate dimension, what the heck is going on, who broke my cat, ballistic. Murder cat spends every waking moment trying to murder derpy cat and we have to keep them locked up in different rooms. Bathing derpy cat was not enough. Then I found these collars. Put a collar on each of them. And it took only a few hours to start to see the change. After 1 week of wearing them, we are FINALLY back to a normal cat home. Murder cat is now only interested in murdering flies and derpy cat has resumed her role as carpet weight. They both eat from the same bowl again, they lick each other lovingly. And while I find the smell of the collars off putting, I’d wear one myself if it would have sped things up. Picture is of derpy cat.

5 days in… jerk cat unrecognizable. Hope this lasts.
I have a very angry cat. The only time he is nice is at bedtime when he snuggles into bed with us and makes biscuits. THATS IT.Petting aggression- checkUnsocialized with other cats and will attempt to end them on sight- checkDislikes play- checkHis human guardians got 2 new kittens a few months ago in hopes of socializing and enrichment. Cue the uptick in aggression and anxiety, resulting in a kitty UTI from stress and an emergency $$$$$ vet visit. We have tried diffusers for months on end, even different formulas. Little monster dude gained a bunch of weight the first month and laid around more. It didn’t do much personality wise, then he seemed unaffected since. We tried those herbal drops in the yellow bottle everyone swears by. No noticeable changes. We tried calming chews. He ate them a couple times then refused them since, even not being free fed. No difference seen. He’s been on CBD oil for cats for about 3 weeks or so, has started refusing his wet food because of it this last week. Slightly more friendly, less bitey, seems to help with his movement more than anything. Plays a little more than he used to.Guys, I am not joking when I say he has been LEANING INTO petting. Not only that, but EXTENDED petting not just give him 3 scritch and snatch my hands away to avoid the angry bites. Head butts into the petting! I kid you not. He might have been body swapped by another cat, cause I don’t know this guy. He’s also been purring a lot when interacting with us. He used to only purr when baking biscuits at night. Who is this cat?!!?This collar was bought as yet another attempt to circumvent getting a vet appointment to prescribe him kitty meds. Last vet in 2022 told us to sedate him prior to bringing him in again. (Never touched him, and didnt resolve the reason we were there, but still charged me $$$ for the visit!)The collar smells a little, like lavender or something herbal and light. I have aversions to smells that are too strong because they give me headaches. I don’t mind the collar smell at all. I can only smell it if I lean down into kitty’s direct space. It’s only been a few days but we took the collar off for about an hour yesterday and he was right back in jerk-cat-mode. This collar will be on permanent reorder status here.If your cat is being anxious or aggressive please try one of these Sentry calming collars for your and your furry family members’ sanity and safety. If anything changes I will update my review.UPDATE its been about a month. My cats personality has not done a 180 (he still bites sometimes) but he is still leaning into petting and interacting with us for an extended time. He plays a little more than before, I attribute that maybe more to the CBD he is given. He does seem happier and more confident overall, but still my little monster. I also noticed I see his eye color more now; before the collar his eyes looked like black marbles unless he was in direct sunlight. Now they look normal and definitely un-devilish. This is worth trying if you have tried everything else like I have. I will continue to purchase.

Helps reduce anxiety and bullying behavior in my cat. Strong smell, worth the trade off for me.
I have 3 cats, 4 when I initially started using this product, but one has crossed the rainbow bridge, with my youngest being 3 years old. My other cats are 11+. My “baby” is insecure and can be a bully, often chasing the other cats around, but is also fearful of where they are. My poor senior cats never know if she will try and love on them or swat or attack them. My poor “baby” was stressed and afraid to come for cuddles with us. And then I found this wonderful collar! They don’t live in perfect harmony with this collar; I’m unsure if that’s possible at this point. However, “baby” is less anxious and her attacks on the other cats are much less when she wears the collar. I can tell when it’s close to 30 days because all the old behaviors increase and then decrease again when I put the new one on. She is also more loving with us. Overall, it’s a good product and worth trying. Remember that cats are different; what works for one won’t work for another, especially with pheromone-based products. That isn’t a reflection on this product, it’s just something to be aware of.Now to the negatives. I have been using this for 4 months, almost 5. I buy the 3 pack tin and just use it on my “baby” cat. Surprisingly, she doesn’t mind wearing the collar. After about 2 weeks of wearing the new collar, she starts scratching at it. With the most recent collar I have noticed that her back is rippling. I check her skin often and don’t see signs of skin irritation, and the collar is loose enough. The collar is strong, and it can be hard to thread the end into the box clasp. However, it is break away because it would slide out of the box clasp if the cat got caught on something. This may not be a good choice if you are sensitive to smells. The smell is super strong and starts to decrease as the weeks pass. It can be distracting when petting your cat and smelling the collar. Even if I don’t see her or she doesn’t vocalize, I can tell when she’s near by the smell of the collar. To me, it’s worth the trade-off to have relative peace in the house.
Order came quite fast from Amazon Japan. Size fits nicely and there is some pleasant smell to the shoes. –
First time trying. Just received. The collar is quite long. Not sure it is supposed to cut it. I just wear to the cat.

I’m reviewing again after a few years of not using this product. I have a very highly strung cat (the brown one). Lots of anxiety symptoms like PICA and aggressive tendencies to our other cat. It’s recently been bad (eating and digesting our mattress!), and he’s been full on aggressive with cat number 2 for about 6 months. I’d finally had enough and purchased this brand of collar (the original US version – and yes I struggled with purchasing an American product and supporting their economy at such political times, but it’s the best one! -I’ve tried the cheaper ones).Instantly our problem cat was calmer, cuddling and purring with us within 20 minutes, and no fighting with our other cat… in fact look at this photo 48 hours later! It’s worth the extortionate cost. It’s smells gently of sweets (candy), the smell is not over powering like the cheap lavender ones. The down fall is the collar ‘buckle’ – it’s terrible, if my cat was absolutely determined he would definitely be able to get it off by struggling with it. I’m thinking of making my own securement system. But for now he has behaved and kept it on.

The product I received was already opened. Sentry comes packed in a hard plastic wrap, and the collar inside the tin is also separately wrapped. I received a unit with zero wrapping, so who knows how long its been open.
