I have data! …Will update review if dog solves it though
I have a 40lb labradoodle who devours 3/4 cup of dry food in an average 1:15-1:30 in a regular stainless bowl. In another type of simple slow feeder, she took a little longer, averaging around 2 minutes and once taking 2:37 (though I may have given too much food that time, I’m not sure). This is a unique style of bowl with soft silicone sides so the dog can push it down to get to the food. With this bowl, her very first time, it took her 3:37. That’s great. (Admittedly, some of that time at the end was trying to get 1-2 stuck pieces from the bottom, for what it’s worth.) And to me, she ate much more CALMLY. There’s also a strong suction cup so if you have tiles or hardwood, you can keep it in place which is nice. So I’m giving this 5 stars for now… although there’s a “but” coming.The “but” is, I feel like my dog is going to QUICKLY figure this thing out. At the end of that first meal trying to get those last few pieces, she started to realize she could hit it with her paw to flip it over (despite the strong suction cup – her will to eat is that much stronger). Then she picked it up in her mouth and threw it. So I’m going to be sure to really press that suction down. Even so, if she learns that it’s easier to attack the thing and dump the food out, then my review will obviously change.First impressions – it’s a winner and I’m going to use it every day. Hopefully it doesn’t change. We’ll see!

Works as it should
Used some puppy wet food and froze it to it to keep the pup busy. It sticks well to a flat surface, easy to come up when maneuvered correctly. Not fond of the puppy shaped crevice in the bottom, a bit hard to clean in, but overall services its purpose

Much bigger than expected!
This slow feeder bowl is MUCH bigger than I expected it to be. It looks gigantic next to my 4-month-old goldendoodle’s face right now, but he’ll grow into it, which I also love as it’s hard (expensive) keeping up with enrichment toys for every growth spurt he has. The material of the bowl is thicker than expected as well, which is great as my pup is currently in the throes of teething and wants to chew obsessively on everything he sees. The suction cup base isn’t all that strong, or at least it isn’t on our floors, but it does stick enough to hold it in place while he’s actually eating/licking. Once it’s empty or cleaned off, though, one slight tug, and it’s off to his bed with him.I think the best features about this bowl are that 1, it’s dishwasher safe and has survived multiple washes with no loss of quality or shape, and 2, it can be used both as a bowl or turned upside down and used as a licking mat. This gives your pup different experiences with the same toy, which is fantastic not only for your wallet but also for your pup’s brain and belly!

Thought it would be smaller like a treat size
Based on the use in the ad photos, I thought this bowl would be a smaller size for use in the freezer for treats. (I’ve seen some of these silicone bowls that you can put a yogurt or peanut butter mixture in and freeze for a treat for the dog, so that’s what I was looking for.) However, this is a full-size dog bowl for a medium to large dog. I’m not wild about feeding the dog from a silicone bowl, but even if I were, this is pretty deep, and the grooves are deep as well. I can’t imagine it would be easy for the dog to get food out of it. The top doesn’t seem wide enough to comfortably stick a snout down in there AND be able to open their mouth for the tongue to get the food in. The suction cup base works well enough, and it’s easy to clean, but that’s about all I liked about it.

Big and soft!
I appreciate the material and the idea. As a bowl, it is way too tall for our small dog. I did not realize that the lick mat consists of tiny bones and I love the slow feeder bottom forming a doggie. It is a creative and fun product and the fact that you can turn it inside out makes it usable for our tiny dog too. Love it.

Heavy duty – but highly chewable
If your dog is a happy licker and not a chewer, this will be a great option for your pup. But if they’re prone to chewing things that have a chewable texture, like silicone, then this will be problematic and you may want to look for a lickable option with a metal collar around it.Hint for watercolor artists: the texture inside this also makes it a fabulous paint water cup for cleaning paint out of brushes while painting!
