Brilliant, Easy, Good Value.
Brilliant. Brilliant. BRILLIANT! A fantastic alternative to claw removal. We have two cats, one is 3 years old and one is 3 months old. We have now applied these nail covers two times. The furniture and carpets are protected, the nails are easy and quick to apply, after the first application (and tantrum), the nails are completely humane to apply! $10 a year? Very worth it.The first time, the older cat screamed bloody murder, tried to pull her paws away and in general, had a tantrum. The kitten was also grumpy, but easier to handle. Regardless, both cats were quite easy to apply the nails to. First I snipped off the tips of their claws (the white portion of the claw), then my boyfriend (who was assisting the operation) passed me a claw full of glue. I slipped the claw on, and between 15 to 30 seconds later, the claw was permanent. I didn’t have any problems with the glue drying before I could put the claw on. After all of the claws were attached, I held the cats for a couple minutes and released them. They both washed their paws throughly, and we would gently take their paws out of their mouth. After the first night, they no longer felt a need to pick at their new claws. Neither cat pulled off their claws. Total application took 20-30 minutes for both cats (we read the instructions twice). The second time we applied the nails, it was roughly 4-5 weeks after the first application. The kitten had lost all but 3 of his, the older cat had lost only 3. Both cats were very good during this application, they didn’t cry and were quite agreeable. After I released them, they went about their business like nothing had happened. The application took 10 minutes for both cats. They still use their scratching post, they still stretch and retract their claws. If I had anything to be upset about, it would be that the sparkly claws don’t show all of the time! Because cats naturally have their claws pulled in most of the time, you rarely see the pretty colors. The sparkly ones look like tasteful glitter nail polish (if there is such a thing). The purple are a nice, solid color and the clear are good for any cat that doesn’t like to show off. Although they do have a bit of a sheen to them, so don’t expect them to be unnoticeable. My only advice is that there is no need to try and conserve glue– you will have more than enough. The caps seal well, so we are still working on our first tube of glue.As for sizes…the 3 month old kitten seems to fit the small size well, and the 13 pound, large female seems to fit well in the medium size (she might possibly be able to fit a small).

The Good, Bad and Ugly.
Update!!: it’s 2020 my sweet boy turns 6 this year. I STILL LOVE these. He’s gotten to where some months he won’t even notice they fell off for awhile and won’t even bother scratching at things. However, once he notices. Man, he goes all out. He is now a big (healthy) chunker that weighs 18 pounds. I alternate between large and medium for him and medium for his now girlfriend who weighs about 8-10 pounds. They both try to take them off as soon as I put them on. However, after a few minutes they have forgotten about them again.Original post: I absolutely love these! I started using this product about 4-5 months ago. I wanted to give it enough time before, I wrote a review. So here’s my story:My sweet kitten just turned one in June and was getting/ tearing up everything! Trimming his nails didn’t help, a big scratching post didn’t work. Absolutely nothing helped. My fiancé started to push for us to declaw him just because, the cat was getting very out of hand. However, since I’m not big on declawing I went to the Internet! These are what I’ve found!I’ve ordered both a small and a medium of these and have found that medium work best. Id say if the cat is younger than one get small, any older it’s best to get medium. The Good:-Basically what these are, are rubber caps that go onto your cats nail. They do not hurt them and for the most part the glue holds strong. It’s a special glue that won’t hurt the animals nails. Nor will it damage anything. They are still able to use their nails however, they arnt nearly as sharp. The Bad:- I’ve noticed on some of these reviews they complain the nails don’t stay long enough or stay on to long. I have had a situation with both. I have learned it truly varies on two things: how much glue you put into the nail and how fast your cat’s nails grow. Be sure to trim the cat’s nails before putting the nail caps on that way they get the longest life span possible. Sometimes, My cat will lose a nail cap after a week of me putting them on. This has nothing to do with the product. It just means my cat was to fidgety and I didn’t put as much glue as I needed too. Some of the nails are different sizes. So make sure that the bigger ones go on the bigger nails (obviously). The Ugly:- There was one time that I had notice my cat had two nails stuck longer than any of his other nail caps ( about two months). I had already replaced all the other ones at least once. However, those two were stuck like some of the horror stories suggested in previous reviews. To be honest it isn’t a huge deal. It just means for some reason they stuck better. I learned that to get those two nails that were “super stuck” off. All you have to do it get a cotton ball with nail polish remover on it and rub the cats stuck nail cap until it pops off. It took only a matter of minutes. Also, it is notable to mention the glue dries very quickly. I’ve learned not to put the glue cap back on. Otherwise, you will never be able to open the glue again. I just put it in a sandwhich bag away from everything until my next use. Also, it does NOT rip out the nail!!! What you see when the nail falls off is dried glue that came up when it fell off the cats nails.Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone considering to buy it. I’ve only had to buy two packages in all the months I’ve been using this product. Great price for the quantity and quality!

Loved it and easy to put on. Just make sure you spend about five minutes brushing your cat after so the glue can dry properly otherwise they will chew them off in two minutes. If they are hard to put on you probably got a size too small. Dont hesitate to pre load the nails with glue before wrestling your cat

The soft paws are amazing!! Very easy to apply and my kitten did not try to take them out at all. He is now unable to scratch the furniture. Please notr this is not harmful to the kitten at all and they are still able to use their claws as normal. They just can’t actually scratch the furniture anymore! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy scratch free furniture!

My cat was slowly destroying my furniture, not so much because he would use it as a scratch post, as because it was his personal jungle gym. My first application of these I did terribly (I trimmed his claws too short, forgot to attach the glue needle etc.), and they STILL work awesome! He wasn’t too thrilled with the application, but hasn’t been bothered by them since! He still uses his scratching posts, which I was worried he wouldn’t, and the nail caps have held up beautifully, despite my terrible application. His claws extend and retract comfortably, and I no longer have scratches on my arms from playing together. I will try to remember to update this review after some additional applications, but right now I am thrilled! My furniture and arms are saved!
