It works!
We have a 4 month old Aussie mix that is sweet as pie and full of life! When it comes to clipping her nails though, you’d think we were seriously trying to harm her. She gets so vicious! Full on snarls, bites hard..anything she can get her mouth on…your fingers, arm, chin….and the headbutts are incredible. She’ll have you seeing stars and maybe your future too! My husband can’t even contain her. The power this pup has! We’ve tried wrapping a towel around her to hold in limbs, doesn’t work. I’ve tried placing a peanut butter lick mat in front of her like I do when I brush her, doesn’t work. I’ve tried distracting her with other food, doesn’t work. You name it! Nothing is working. It’s so stressful and can I say rather traumatizing on everyone, not to mention WE get a stern talking to from her afterwards. LOL. There has to be a better way. So as a last ditch effort I got on Amazon and found this. I was skeptical even with all the positive reviews, but knew we needed to do something.IT WORKS! Holy cheeseballs! Got it in the mail, ripped the package open. Hubby set up a ladder, grabbed a random pole out in the yard that literally had to have been sitting to the side waiting to shine for this very moment to put her on. She fought us a bit getting her into the harness, not bad but she knew something was up. He then held her up on one side of the ladder while I tried to clip her to the pole standing on the other side…maaaybe slightly squinting from some of the apprehension while silently praying to the puppy gods that this works when he begins to tell me, “If you can ever get her clipped in we’ll know.” to which I replied “I’m nervous!” and then he said, “It would really help if you’d stop squinting and mumbling incoherent words and just get it done.” I rolled my eyes. Lol. I got her clipped in and stood back slightly. I was on the edge of my seat like I’m watching the 1960’s Alfred Hitchcock movie Psycho waiting for her reaction. Well, she just dangled there, tried to swim in the air some, fussed at us but in the end….just dangled. 🙂 I would do a paw and reward with a treat and lots of praises.I said all of this to let you know, it works! It took us maybe 5 minutes and all we got in the end was a simple huff from her. Got her down and got lots of puppy kisses! Worth every penny in my books! I would buy again and again and I’m even contemplating putting my other fur baby in this sling to see if it calms him down even further. A win win!Update: 8/25Trimmed nails again, trying to stay on top of it and get her used to it. She knew this time what was coming….but didn’t put up much of a fight. I brought out her treats and we worked through it, still so much better than before! I did a treat per nail instead of paw and I would wait until she calmed down before moving on. I will say she moved a bit more on this one. I did get my other fur baby in it, worked like a charm! So easy. He got lots of praise and treats too.

It works
What more can I say besides “it just works?”Because it just works. My dog is nearly 12 years old and I’ve never been able to cut more than one or two nails at a time, and DEFINITELY not her hind legs without a struggle. With this my struggle is at an end. She sat there giving me this mournful expression but we got it done in only a few minutes and now everyone is happy.

So easy, buy it!
That was so easy. My dog isn’t big, but man does she fight nail trims as if she is. A little suspicious of the sling but couldn’t do a whole lot once she was in it.My dog would probably disagree with my review but she doesn’t have Amazon so she can’t leave one lol.

M is too big for our mini doxies; helps a little w/ trimming anxiety
Based on the measurements and what other mini dachshund owners had ordered, plus their successes, we ordered one MEDIUM in blue for our two male dachshunds. One is about 11 pounds and the other about 14 (more of a tweenie-lean and long, not fat). The Medium is WAY too big for our mini 4 year old weighing about 11 pounds. He can easily slip his legs out of the holes. It is “okay” for our 14 pound, 7 year old male. However, it still takes TWO people. And we use this over the walk in shower kit door so the included straps are way to small to fit over that rail. We use heavy duty rubber tie downs from our truck travel kit. Two work well. You lay the harness on the floor. Call them to it. Hold them still and place legs in the holes. One person keeping them still while the other raises the sides. My husband has to hold the front two and the rear two tightly with his fists, especially for the 11 pounder because if not, he’ll just slip right out of it. Once he holds them up in the air, he walks them to the shower. He positions the harness under the rubber tie downs and I secure the metal tie down hooks into the harness loops. And he NEVER leaves hold of the harness, especially with the 11 pounder. They are not happy with it. They are NOT “zen” or “tranquil”. I give them a treat when they are attached to get them started. Then while he contains a firm grip on the harness (especially behind the head) and making sure our smaller dachshund is moving his legs out of the holes…I use the rechargeable nail grinder. I have tried the clippers, but they still don’t like the sound of snap. We have found it is very important to still wear a headlamp because the lighting isn’t that great in the shower stall. They still wriggle and whimper for the nail trimming. I give a treat in between each toe. Even though we’ve been doing the 4 year olds nails over two years (he’s a rescue) and the 7 year olds nails (rescue) for nearly four years, they still don’t like it. The harness has made it easier in that the older dachshund can’t fight us quite as much as the little one cannot bite us or make teeth contact —as easily. It is an improvement but not nearly the improvement that some have reported and showed on youtube. We bought two licky mats to suction to the shower wall and plan to smear no salt added nut butter (we have one with a peanut allergy so we can’t use peanut butter) when the order arrives. Someone posted a video of this online and it can give them a happy distraction while they lick and you trim. There really needs to be some sort of extra security for behind the head. My husband uses one fist to keep a tight grip behind their head. He also tries to face them into the shower so they cannot see what I’m doing, otherwise, the little one still tries to teeth my hands while i work. We don’t want him to have that first bite experience. We’ve used this three or four times now in the past week since we bought it. In general, we try to work at least a couple of nails at a time, trying to work on their nails about 3 times per week whenever possible. We’ve tried it on the couch, on the porch loveseat outside, standing over the sink, and now this hanging harness. We would have definitely purchased the SMALL if we could have tried this on in a store. The thin provided straps will fit over a standard shower rod or broom handle, however, we didn’t feel safe enough in the security to hang them from the shower rod since they are the types that expand to fit the wall space. The heavy duty rubber tie downs we had in the garage give us more options and allow us to use it in the shower kit.Hopefully we can get them to relax more when we implement the licky mat distraction.I would never try to do this alone. It would be very unsafe having them at that height. One lady had a tip: she put the harness loops over a mop handle and placed the mop handle between the rungs of two dining room chairs. I guess you’d have to sit on the floor, because the dog would be hanging pretty low, but might be an option for a single person.

No more struggling.
I was a little skeptical when I received my “Doggie Sling”. While it was delivered as shown, it looked a bit big for our long haired dachshund, so we tried it out. After a few moments of struggle, Sasha settled down and became quite still and well behaved. I would definitely recommend this product. CAUTION: Check the way to measure at least twice, the first one we received would have fitted a German Shepard.

No more paying a vet to clip nails works so good
This product works so well I’m kicking myself for not buying it sooner I have a three and a half pound dog that’s a morkie teacup she’s crazy when you even go near her with a nail clippers this is the first time in 4 years I’ve been able to do all four of her paws without any assistance. So simple to hook up the only challenge was where do I hang her from I have a clawfoot tub and couldn’t use my shower curtain holder but I was able to install it simply on my clothesline she’s so tiny it didn’t interfere with anything it’s just too carabinas and it’s up highly recommend this

Although this product said for small dogs, it is too big for my small chihuahua cross Jack Russell. I did measure my dog as well to check if it would fit. The arm holes are too large and the fabric comes up too high on the neck area.Looks reasonably made.

My doxie hates having his nails trimmed. I hang him in this thing and he just goes limp. Our hour long nail trimming ordeal is now fives minutes and done. The hammock is well made. The carabiner clips are lightweight aluminum. It works like a charm.
