This is an excellent book on grooming for either a show dog or pet. It also covers the history of grooming, the professional groomer, and how to open a business. Just about any dog owner can get something out of this book.

The Stone Guide to Dog Grooming for All Breeds
This book was in excellent condition. I am very happy with the book and with this seller. I’m beginning a new grooming business and feel this book will be very helpful when coming across breeds I’ve haven’t yet experienced working with.

The Stone Guide to Dog Grooming for All Breeds
I must agree with Glenda K. Campbell, her words are as follows: “As a pet owner I have been searching for a dog grooming book for the normal person to understand and I have found it in this book. The illustrations and written descriptions are very clear and have helped me to understand what to do and how to do it. Some books only give you partial details but The Stone Guide is precise and descriptive.” (Published on July 24, 2000 by Glenda K. Campbell). I too would highly reccommend this book for anyone wanting to learn how to tend to their own pet’s grooming. But realize that this book was publised in 1981.

I would highly recommend this book
The Stone Guide to Dog Grooming is the number 1 resource book in my library. It has everything a groomer needs to advance in the grooming field. I would highly recommend this book.

Compact size, hardback, limited information available on particular breeds
The quality of the contents were a big disappointment to be honest. The seller was 100% great. I have a Bichon & the AKC has recognized this breed (in fact the Bichon has won the Westminster Dog Show at least 2x)The book did not contain any related info at all for Bichon’s. The book was compact in size about 5x7I will be selling this book as it’s not what I needed as I couldn’t find the table of contents online anywhere. Our library was closed due to the pandemic otherwise I would have checked there first. It may be exactly what you are looking for.

Do not buy for training purposes.
As a professional I noticed that this book was EXTREMELY out dated. I was going to use it to train my new apprentice but I’ll just stick to Notes From The Grooming Table. It suggested absurd things like only kennel drying short coats which is a big no, no in my book unless you want your dog to smell poorly. Wish I could get my money back.

Nice little book but not the one that I was looking for. Still informative though.
Amazon Customer –
My groomer of 9 years retired so down to me. I’m finding the book invaluable.
