Sturdy Pool, Frustrating Fish
The very first thing to do if you order this is to look at the product images to understand how to install the batteries and operate the fish. Since the instructions included with toy aren’t clear on this – going as far as stating the batteries are already installed when they aren’t – I ended up doing a series of trial-and-error, commissioning my husband’s help, and watching tutorial videos, essentially blowing 45 minutes trying to figure out how to get the batteries installed, only to realize the first thing I tried was correct, I just wasn’t activating the fish by pushing the buttons on the side.Imagine how thrilled I was to see that my cat kind of isn’t into this toy once I had the pool filled and the fish finally operating! But that’s okay – cats are cats and they like stuff or they don’t. You really just need to try a series of things to see which toys they’ll stick with.I did find the pool to be quite durable. It’s thick enough that it would take some serious and long term scratching for a hole to develop in the material. My cats also seemed mildly more interested once I added a ping pong ball (one of his favorites) to the water, so depending on your cat, you might try additional toys. If nothing else, it will make a sturdy water bowl.

This is a sturdy cat pool that my cat can’t knock over, and the included fish toy attracts my cat’s attention. The cats all love it. It’s fantastic.
