Perfect in the Sun for My Service Dog!
I bought this Upgraded Elevated Dog Bed with Canopy for my German Shepherd, who is also my service dog, and we absolutely love it! It’s sturdy, super easy to set up, and the anti-slip feet give it great stability on different surfaces. The removable wider shade is a game-changer — it keeps him cool whether we’re relaxing on the back porch or out at soccer practice in the sun. He looks so comfortable lounging on it, and I love that it’s raised off the ground for better airflow. It’s lightweight enough to move around easily but strong enough for a large dog like mine. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a portable, durable, and comfortable spot for their furry friend to hang out!

Very large, but center bar issues
The center bar won’t stay attached if you move the bed. Every time I pick it up to move it, the bar falls off. My 108 lb malamute likes the bed and it’s plenty big for him…plus the wide feet don’t sink into the grass like the last one I had, so that is why I am giving it 4 stars. The connection mechanism needs to be changed for the center bar though. I am going to try to wedge something into the center bar connection to make it tighter so it doesn’t fall off every time I move the bed to mow the lawn.

My dog loves it! I had some difficulty getting the last pipe in place. It’s a sturdy bed and I love that it has the center bar for better support, and the size is perfect for my dog.

Maybe good for shade, but definitely doesn’t stop the rain.
It is okay.I live in the Seattle area and have a Chow that wants to be outside all the time. So I wanted a place for him to relax, but that would keep the sprinkles off his heavy coat (which takes forever to dry). So was excited to see this option as it gave a nice canopy with mesh bottom (he doesn’t like anything ‘warm’) and the tent topper to keep him dry while still giving him visibility to watch the world around him.Setup for the XL was tough. I’m a good sized 200 pound guy that works out a lot, and getting some of the bars in was a workout. I eventually had to get a rubber mallet to help tap it in / straighten out things. The main problem is that you are fighting with the ‘stretch’ of the canopy bed which doesn’t really have any stretch to it.The tent portion seemed a bit more flimsy. There are only two loops where the poles go through and then a couple velcro pieces. We’ll see how well it gets through its first wind storm. I also had to get some additional fasteners to get it more taught. It also felt like it was going to blow away at the first gust of wind, so I had to use a couple 35 pound dumbbells to attach the legs to in hopes that will keep it secure.So finally got it up, just in time too since it started to sprinkle some rain. So I pack up my tools and clean up everything. I get all excited to show my pups his new cool hangout. I go get him and take him out back and noticed the inside is completely wet. The mesh bottom also is so tight it doesn’t drain the water so where my boy should be sitting, there is instead a big pool of water. So unfortunately after all that, it doesn’t handle the main purpose I bought it for. He does like to use it as a water bowl though and drink up the rain water. :pSo I don’t think it will last very long. But wanted to write this to let you know, if you are buying it hoping it will keep them dry, it doesn’t.

This bed has lasted me soooo long. The tarp got munched on by the dog, still hung in there for long enough but the bed is used and abused by a heavy dog. Still going strong!
