Good for cat
I got this for my cat because she keeps scratching the heck out of my furniture. I’m pretty pleased with it because she’s been playing with it for a whole day and she hasn’t gotten tired of it yet.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!
My cat loves this lighted ball in a bag toy! She is normally finicky and doesn’t like toys that zoom around on their own; but this one is contained in the bag where she can’t see it and it is in a small area. I didn’t have high hopes for this toy, but she took to it immediately. I was amazed! I like the toy for several reasons:1. The bag containment idea is a stroke of genius. I believe that my cat hated the toys that zoomed across the room because she was either timid or just couldn’t figure out what she was supposed to do with it! A self-propelled ball in a bag and that’s a whole new thing. She took one look at it jumping round, zooming and making noises and she was delighted; spent a long time hunting and trapping it (and we had a ball watching her).2. The charge on the ball lasts a long time. Has a USB so easy to recharge it. NOTE: Directions do say that when charging the red light stays on – it doesn’t, it flashes red like it’s in low mode. I just disregarded the instructions and kept it plugged in, a few hours later I came back and it was showing the green recharged light.3. The different speeds are a real plus. It is also quiet and the noise it does make is sort of like a small thumping sound so it doesn’t scare the cat. They note that the covered ring that surrounds the ball can be removed and it will be louder, but I haven’t tried that since I want the cat to get used to the toy first before changing up it up.4. Found it interesting that they included a small screwdriver and several replacement screws to remove the outer ring for the faster effect and also to clean it of any hair.I’ve included a video of the bag and ball running around in it, minus cat, because it is easier to see what it does and how it runs.Overall, I am very pleased with this toy and heartily recommend it for even the most finicky of felines.

If it was the ball alone, it would be 5 stars
So the idea of this toy was to keep my 2 adolescent ragdolls entertained as they love hunting anything under a blanket – like our toes! We thought this would give them the same effect without our own body part suffering. The whole skittering ball under cover was appealing because it would keep everything compact and tidy while still being a distraction for the cats. The oval bag is large enough that both cats could play with it at the same time (see photo with can of corn for size reference) and is a very cute print, but that’s the best part of it. The walls do not stand up as in the photos, so the ball does not have enough room to effectively move around and do the flips that entice the cats.If the bag is on a plush carpet, the ball hardly moves at all. Placing the bag on smoother surfaces like tile or a wood floor helped, but the weight of the fabric or perhaps the shortness of the sides still seemed too much for the ball to overcome. The result was that the cats lost interest very quickly because the ball wasn’t doing anything exciting. But once we took the ball out of the bag and let it room freely, they were in love! It’s erratic in movement, and with the ring around it will flips itself over if it gets stuck by a wall or under the sofa, seeming to chase them instead of them chasing it.The motion lasts about 5 minutes before it stops, and will restart if they tap the ball again. They figured that out pretty quickly. This works for us so that we get on with whatever we need to do (work, cook, etc.) while they are fully entertained. If they don’t touch it again within 2 hours, the ball goes to sleep and you have to manually start it again for them. The flashing lights are enticing for the cats and informative for you – when they are blue the ball has power, flashing red means it needs a charge. Depending on how much the cats are playing with it, you may have to charge it more often than the expected 2 hours of play. It’s fairly quiet if you don’t count the sound of 2 ragdolls crashing around chasing the ball. It whine a little bit, but that makes it fun for the cats. We’re able to work on a call or watch TV without it being a nuisance. The kit comes with the bag, the ball and furry ring, a short and somewhat flimsy/poor quality USB-C charger (not an issue because we have chargers all over), and a small screwdriver and a bags of screws. The last two items confounded us until we saw that they are there to make it easier to clean the pivot points where the ring and the ball connect – live vacuum cleaner wheels, fur and hair will get tangled, A thoughtful addition. So, we just use the ball on its own without the bag. If there was an option to just purchase the ball, we’d happily get another one. The bag would need to be made deeper and with stiffer sides to work well as described.

Charge doesn’t last
Our cats loved the first one of these I received, however the ball only held a charge for less than an hour. I asked for a replacement, assuming the first was defective. Well guess what…the replacement doesn’t hold a charge longer than an hour either. The cats really like this toy, so it is a shame the technology isn’t as good as the idea. Low battery life means it’s a pain for the owner. Everything else is great about it: the cover and ball are durable, but if it doesn’t work for longer than an hour, it won’t hold the cats’ interest.

Whoa doggies! Watch the kitties run!
This one of the best cat toys I’ve come across in a while. Tabby Lady and Bengal Boi, in their later years, had been less active. Then, Oci Boi (the ocicat) is waaaaaay move active and even at 4 years, still has zoomies. This toy has the random action of a small prey animal, plus the squeaks of a Very Small animal. Oci Boi spent all afternoon playing and then bitched at me for taking too long to recharge it.Now, here’s the thing, the instructions are hard. I ended up dismantling the thing because I followed the ‘How to Clean Pet Hair’ instructions accidentally. The graphic about symbols on the case is a bit hard to figure out (and I used to do this kind of illustrations for a living). I used a flat head screw driver to find the access ports to charge the unit. The main unit that rolls around has a fake fur ‘scrunchy’ around it. As per the instructions, timid cats might appreciate the slower pace the fur ring makes. Those with crazy, zippy, zoomie or wild kitties can remove the ring and hold down the power button for faster units. How good is it? I got Siamese-level screamed at while we waited for it to recharge. Four times since the box arrived.
