Works great!
These clippers work really well. I did a bunch of research before finally settling on this pair, and I am so glad that I did! It is worth the extra money to buy these instead of dog clippers if you are clipping horses for shows. These clippers have a very low noise level and most horses tolerate it quite well. It does not take long for the spookier horses to adjust to these either. If you let them charge overnight, the battery life lasts for the clipping of several horses. My only complaint is that they really vibrate, much more than I expected them to. Some of my horses think its a toy or a treat, which makes muzzle clipping slightly more difficult. My clippers are the most popular ones at the barn, my friends love them and the horses don’t mind them.

More powerful than expected
I needed a pair of clippers to body clip my horse this spring that wouldn’t break the bank. In the past I’ve used an old pair of Wahl Stable Pros that are going on 20 years old now. The rotary motor in those clippers is still going strong, but the plastic piece that moves the blades keeps cracking, and getting replacement parts is a challenge. So I bought these Ion clippers, which seemed the closest to my old clippers and use the same blades, the big difference is they are cordless. I couldn’t body clip my horse in one sitting with these because the battery only lasts 2-3 hours, but they got the job done over the course of 2 days, and were almost as powerful as the old Stable Pros. Gotta admit I was skeptical on their power, and they exceeded my expectations. Being cordless was a nice feature too, neither me or my horse got all tangled up in a cord for once! They were not as easy to clean (take apart) as the Stable Pros, but since I only plan to use them once a year, that doesn’t bother me too much. Overall a good purchase, hopefully they last multiple years like the Stable Pros did.

Good value
Wish I would had purchased years ago. Worked on my senior collie. His fur proved these clippers are good!

Them horses can’t get away!!
I’ve had an old set of corded Wahl clippers for 20 years that plain wore out. Got my money’s worth! So when I had to replace them I went back to Wahl. These are great clippers!! Not as loud as the old ones and clipped beautifully through a thick mane. I have a newer mare that wasn’t so sure about clipping but with these, and without a cord, I could move with her as she moved. She did great this time! May have been the extension cord that she didn’t like because this time it took less than 5 minutes to get her clipped. Pleased as peaches!! Highly recommend.

Great for dogs & horses
I waited a while to review this so I could really use it. Initially I used this for clipping our horses’ muzzles & legs for showing purposes. The clippers held a great charge & was very accurate & trimmed the hair easily. I always put th oil on after cleaning it, when I’m done.I recently used these clippers to shave our large dogs (labs). They worked really well, with both fine and coarse hair. I did watch the temp of the metal after using for a while, and let them cool down before continuing. The charge held for the shaving of two large dogs without needing a recharge.I’m super happy with these clipper & will recommend & buy again, if needed.

Great trimmers from June till September!
I got these trimmers on June 29, 2020. They charged right up and worked great and were quiet. Here it is the end of September and they won’t hold a charge. I am truly disappointed. Also Amazon only gives you 60 dayes to return them so now I’m 90 days out with a pair of useless clippers.

Wahl has long been our choice for horse clippers
This clipper was purchased for horse ear trimming and was advertised as quiet but it is far from quiet. The quality is very good and we did not return the item. The horse learned to put up with the noise and the clipper did a good job. We do not recommend for use on a young, inexperienced animal.

Giving 1 star for now. Waiting to hear from Wahl support as this clipper stopped working entirely after 2 (light) uses. First time using they were awesome, but seem to dull VERY quickly, and I only used to lightly trim fetlock, bridle path and whiskers on my horse. Will update this if/when I hear back from Wahl around whether this is a fault in my clippers specifically ot whether they’re just actually this bad. At this point, I don’t recommend.
